Early on, no reads.

I feel like this is a situation that happens a lot in tournaments, and I never really know what to do.

I'm OOP with a really strong hand. He doesn't ever fold a Jack here, I don't think.

I also don't know if he'd bluff a missed draw if i call then check river.

Thoughts?

Seriously, I feel like a huge donkey saying to minraise, but it may well be the best play. He's probably not going to fold a draw getting those odds. He won't fold a jack. He may be enticed to call with some random weak hand and then call again on river.

if he's raising you with a draw he is not going to fold to a raise, and if you think he has a hand he is never going to fold then your obvious answer is to raise here.

I dont know if it matters how much you raise, any raise you put in commits you and he should be able to see that. although a miniraise could get more action here than a push, so why not

this is most likely not true, not like hes calling off 1400 with a naked FD, dont even know if hed have odds to call with some huge draw

^do you think he is raising a draw here to build a pot in case he does hit or trying to push us out, or do you think its not possible for him to be on a draw here

its possible that he could have a draw, it would be more likely if this were raised pf since some people will try to rep that second jack with a draw (and still somewhat possible here) but you dont build the pot here with one card to come when you have nothing

agreed, that being said i still like a raise here oop

i also probably jam here
he most likely never folds a jack ever on any river though so there is a fair argument for calling and then deciding, i think it raelly depends on the player to [a] just call the turn and [b] whether to check or push (no other bets) but default is push on turn since you'll probably never call a draw on turn (board paired oop) and then bluff a missed river

i hate call - vbet tbh giving his range it makes no sense, imo its either Jam or C/C turn C/R river

i agree with the minraise although call//jamming river is ok too. dont like shoving just because of how strong a move it is on the turn based on how the hands been played
