Chinese collusion on DoN tables on PokerStars

<img src="http://admins.liquidpoker.net/staff/Defrag/Chineese_temple.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">This is probably the biggest cheating scandal since the AP/UB superuser-scandal in terms of cash lost: after a long investigation it turns out that a big group of Chinese have colluded in Double or Nothing Sit and Go's from the summer of 2009 until February 2010. It is said that loses exceed $800,000 and PokerStars have already agreed to pay $587,000 compensation to those players affected by collusion.

The Chinese group were aiming at Double or Nothing sit & goes with buy-ins between $52 and $108. It all started to get attention when one of the cheaters, Jane0123 started a topic on 2p2 forum about his/her account that was frozen by PokerStars. The Sharkscope data from this user, that showed 11,766 DoN SNG's with an average stake of $87, showed a profit of $56,300. Another cheater from this group, "wudiyg" was the biggest winner at DoN games in 2009, showing a profit of $96,000.

It turned out that on these Double or Nothing events, where half of the field gets paid, at least half of the players on the table where from the same Chinese group, most of whom were based in Hangzhou. From the estimated $800,000 in damages, PokerStars is paying out $587,000 to those affected. Since only $85,000 in cash and FPP's has been retrieved from these cheaters, most of this money is going to be paid by PokerStars itself.

The investigation is still not closed and there have been reports of a new group of Chinese players, this time from Wenzhou, has started evading the $52 to $108 DoN tables on PokerStars. So watch out when you're playing, the Chinese are trying to get your monies!

Can someone explain how they cheat? Did they share hole cards, or is it simply just by pushing the other players out of pots?

I remember seeing this show/video or something about China, where it focused partially on WoW gold farming. There were a bunch of Chinese guys in a PC room just farming gold all day. Maybe they had the same type of setup for playing DoN's.

who the fuck would play DoNs anyways?

Misclicked on one before and it was the slowest most awful things i have experienced playing cards
