Game is 7 or 8 handed live 1-1-2 NL holden
Button $200
BB $240
Me (UTG +1) $280
I open to 7 UTG+1 with K10ss. button calls, Bb calls
Flop 5s8sQd (pot $18 after rake I believe- max drop any flop in California :/ lol)
BB checks, I bet 14, both call
Turn 5s8sQd9c (pot $60)
Everybody checks
River 5s8sQd9c3s (pot $60)
BB leads 30, I?
Neither player seems to be a drooler, my game recently broke and I just got moved here, 2nd orbit. Both young - 30s white men but not online players I don't think.
I've been watching a lot of the Claudico bot lately and I think it would definitely choose all in as its play because of GTO or whatever. Do you think a smaller raise is better to get wider calls out of a human or is there more value in getting bigger bets called less frequently (or at the same rate).
What do you guys do here.
Yes I could 3barrel this and that may be best but I believe the line I took is certainly viable especially vs the players in this hand. |

If I raise pot that would be 60 more to him. If I jam it is 180ish back to him |

As played I like making it like 80-90. You can probably consider betting the turn yourself with the amount of draws you have but I don't mind checking live, as you are probably going to be able to see the river pretty cheap most of the time. |

90-100 is my bluff size most likely. Not that it matters really.
I had a live read that he was pretty strong; probably a flush but maybe even a straight if he doesn't lead those on turn. Didn't figure he'd be able to fold any flush and I figured he should have more worse flushes than nutflushes but it might actually be kinda close since the Qs is out there. I got snapped by AJss of course.
what u think k40 90/fold? would be sick if he 3bet shoved j10ss and got me to fold but i don't know about that. |

AJss, A9ss, A8ss, A7ss, A6ss, A4ss, A2ss
vs
J9ss, J8ss, J7ss(weight this lower if at all), 89ss, 97ss, 96ss, 87ss, 86ss, 76ss, 64ss(?), 42ss(?)
So 7 nutflush combos he can have pretty much 100% of the time. He always calls them in the BB and probably plays them just like this. 11 flushes he may have inferior to mine however he may not even call BB 100% of the time with all of those combos especially the worse ones and even if he did get to river with all 11 he may find a fold some of the time versus my shove.
So I may have made a big mistake here.
I mean there are players that I can shove here and expect to get called by 2 pair but I don't think this guy is one of them; he seemed to play a reasonable game. |

I def had the gayest relative position which played some small part in checking turn. |

Uhh if you raise pot it's 120 more for him. Just wanted to point that out. |

Yea if we were to count the call I have to put out before raising like when calculating a pot raise in PLO then you are absolutely right. I used 'pot' wrong in this hand - I was considering pot in this hand to be the chips pulled into the middle at the time River action was on me and that is technically not 'pot'. Raising to 90 is kind of a small raise period I think I always flick out at least 5 black $20 chips and overbet jam bare As hands vs nit regfish. In the sentence you quoted twisted I was trying to communicate that I wanted to know the best raise size in your guy's opinion from 60 more to 180 all in

gay spot because when we raise we always have the goods, due to the player behind us still to act
still i don't like flatting with 2nd nuts (though it is an option because of our range being way unbalanced towards value hands when we raise, and guy behind could possibly make a move), if we're raising i don't mind any amount over 100, though if hes good he might fold a smaller flush to a larger sizing knowing you'll usually have a flush too. at the same time a super large sizing could indicate, just maybe, a bluff with lone ace of spades, which could get calls from weaker hands... but like, who does that esp live? ;p |
