Moving On Up!
  Bejamin1, Mar 18 2007

Alright well BR update is now $504.99 so I will be taking a stab at 25NL and I expect to do just fine. 10NL Was a bitch, difficult to play with tons of shortstacks and fishy players until I got the hang of it and I'm looking forward to pushing around a few more nits as I move up.

I hope to be at 50NL within a few weeks time. Played roughly 20K hands of 10NL the first 10K of which were fishy of me in which I had gotten away from the tactics I used to cruise through 5NL.

On I side note I really need to play a shitload more hands.

Cheers

-Ben

Still Learning, Getting There!
  Bejamin1, Mar 01 2007

So I thought it was time for a quick update. I've found a somewhat steady and simple method for being 10NL 6-max which took a little longer to figure out than I would have liked. Running a bit behind schedule for moving up to 25NL due to having to learn how to beat 10NL after cruising through 5NL in a week or two. I feel fairly confident now. Today was the first down session in my previous four and was only a down session because of some hard luck, a little bit of tilt, and a few poor plays.

Bad Beat 1

The hand below was played very poorly by me, however to explain the min-rasier was a complete maniac who I knew would go broke on top pair. Unfortunately the guy in the blinds called and I was too angry to shut-down then and there.

Biggest mistake of the session

In this next hand I just happened to pick the exact wrong time to double-barrel. He was calling every single PF raise and floating the flop every time. Unfortunately the one time I decided to play back at him he had the goods .

Wrong time for a play

In this one I simply didn't think he had much, I'd almost stacked him and he only had top pair on the previous hand. Possibly should have been more diciplined and should have let it go.

Tough Spot, More dicipline needed?

In this next one I decided to call and re-evalute the river because his line just seemed like the fishy set-line I'm used to running into. Not sure if I played it well.

Not Sure

Alright well thats about it for now. Let me know what you think guys. Thanks for all the advice in advance.

Hit The Wall
  Bejamin1, Feb 20 2007

Alright, so I've now played 10k hands of 10NL and I've made all of $10.00. My first 2-3 sessions were winners and I was up $50.00. Then I took a break for midterms and now I'm playing a bunch on my reading week. I'm making this blog because I need some advice. I'm having trouble beating the 6-max 10NL loose tables (40%+ players to the flop every hand).

I'm just wondering from those of you who have moved through this stake and crushed it while multi-tabling did to do so. What type of strategies and plays you used on a frequent basis. I find I'm having my raised called PF no matter what size it is. Suck-outs have also been somewhat of a problem and the most challenging thing has been placing opponents on a hand because tons of times is just flat out random.

So from those of you who CRUSH absolutely DEMOLISH NL10 on stars, what'd you do to get yourself through it quickly? It's a beatable game I can feel that much, I'm just having trouble finding a method that is successful on a 4/5 session basis or so.

Progress :)
  Bejamin1, Feb 05 2007

I like to play over-rolled. Cashed out most of my roll last september that I built up off of Satellite to Sunday wins on stars.

I've now started learning the dynamics of 6-max cash-games. Goal is to play about 40-50k hands per month. Managed only 10k in my first month but starting to step it up now as I get more comfortable. My goal is to ascend the stakes as quickly as possible and reach 100NL by June. Debating whether to split my roll once I hit 50NL and take advantage of UB rakeback/softness of the games there.

January 7th Starting BR: $250.00
Stake 5NL

Feb 5th BRL: $366.28
Stake 10NL

Goal: Start 25NL March 1st, BR Needed = $1000.00
