10bi session wheee
  edzwoo, Jun 06 2009

Daily updates are bit too tough for me, so I guess I'll update when I feel like it.

A few things I'm currently working on:
Calling as opposed to 3betting and vice versa.
How people perceive my image, specifically in 3bet pots.
Not spewing in certain call-downs.

Also, playing considerably looser gives you killer swings. I never had many sessions above or below 3bi when playing 15/11. The whole point in playing looser is to push small edges, so if the stacks don't fly, something's probably wrong. I'm definitely far from making perfect decisions though, and my main goal is to consistently play my A-game. I definitely played REALLY bad during two sessions in the last weak, and I opted to cut some tables after talking a bit with rockman. I'm also trying my best to table select, because it's probably the single biggest thing to affect your winrate, even more so than playing good poker.

Anyways, NO MORE SPEWING FROM HERE ON OUT!

p.s. if anyone wants to talk poker, feel free to pm msn and aim stuff

I'm on massive tilt.
  edzwoo, Jun 03 2009

First I ran bad

+ Show Spoiler +

Might've been able to fold here I dunno.

Then I went 0/5 or so on 3bets.
Then I went 0/2 on 4bets.

Then I constantly got my cbets raised by passive donks and nits in every iso.

Then I timed out 3 river calls I should have made.

Then I folded the nuts preflop twice

Then I get slapped in the face

Down 3.5bi, will turn that around later today.

Day 6 - HEM is broken
  edzwoo, Jun 03 2009

No graphs or session stats, since I'm recreating my HEM database, so here's a pretty lame blog post. Dropped roughly 2bi due to bad play (3betting some people too much and not keeping track of it) and a bit of run bad, but it really wasn't a big deal. I also had no HUD, and it made me a bit uncomfortable to play. I think I played about 1200 hands or so.

Will have updated graphs tomorrow.

Day 5 - For the struggling.
  edzwoo, Jun 01 2009

I only played about 1k hands today, but I ran really good and played really well. One thing that annoyed me a bit is that I missed a river shove for about half a buy-in. Other than that.

One thing that regulars never do at these limits is overbet the pot. I post a ton of hands where I overbet vs fish and get paid off by worse, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone else at my limit do this yet. There are also a ton of great overbetting spots vs regs for value or as a bluff; and the great part is, you don't have to balance it at small stakes. Once someone gets their ABC game down really well, they have to seriously stop limiting themselves to things that were once unheard of.

Two things people have to do:
1. Take the word, "standard," out of their poker diction.
2. Stop doing things robotically. Just because you ran a bluff at one table doesn't mean you're not playing robotically. Every single time you miss a +EV spot, it directly affects your winrate. Nitty 24-tablers have marginal winrates because it's impossible to keep track of every single +EV situation. There are so many that they just grab the biggest +EV opportunities and ditch all the marginal ones that require more attention. This means a low winrate.

These two articles on LP are extremely important for people in the small-med stakes area (not microstakes)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/pokerartic...84/The_Exploitive_vs_Optimal_Approach
http://www.liquidpoker.net/pokerarticle/365045/Advanced_Fundamentals

The second article is essentially blueprints on how you can go about exploiting people.

Anyways, this post was originally intended to just post today's session, but I just ended up spewing my thoughts. Here's a fun hand and the results for today:

I also won $876.55 playing NL50 HU on FTP over 7k hands.

Day 4 - I am +EV
  edzwoo, May 31 2009

I ran pretty well today. My first session was nearly +5bi, and I felt that I played well. Definitely can't say the same for my second session, though. I ended that session down about 2bi, making about 3 bad calldowns.

The important thing though is that I actually had a winning session, though. And a pretty nice one at that!

I'm also trying to make good of my ridiculous image at these tables.

Day 3 - FISHOWNED!
  edzwoo, May 30 2009

So I've determined that I'm currently doing very well (and running well!) vs regs, but I'm getting absolutely destroyed by fish. Here's a funny hand.

LOL

I had two more pots where I reraised to 20bbs for value, but got outflopped. Anyways, results aside, I'm still feeling really good about how I'm playing. If I continue to hover around break-even for the next week, I'll re-eval my game.

Day 2 - Bleh
  edzwoo, May 29 2009

I got two outed on the river about 3 times today, but I think I might have spewed about 2bi. Had I played postflop a bit better and made some folds I'd say I'd have broke even for the day. But oh well, still improving!

I also transferred my FTP roll over to Stars so now my roll is pretty comfortably padded.

Day 1
  edzwoo, May 27 2009

I'm finally moved into my summer apartment, and I'm going to be grinding consistently every day now. I'm hoping to put in at least 3-4 hours a day (unless I'm tilted or something). I'll be grinding NL100 FR, and although I haven't played non-HU poker in about a 1.5 months, I've been pretty active in reading and giving advice in the forums, so I'm feeling really good.

I've also been doing a lot of research via Holdem Manager, as well as looking into some hand histories to see traits that some of the bigger winners have. You can seriously find out a ton of things about your game if you use the filters. I'm also testing out a few theories, and I think I currently have a HUGE edge at NL100. I could be way off though, and you can all laugh at me if I go busto .

Anyways, I'll be posting my progress as well as stats. Probably not a good idea since there are a few LPers here that it'll help, but whatever.

I'll be putting in more hands than this starting tomorrow. Just had to get back in the groove, and I'm definitely still feeling really good.

GL at the tables.
