I was having that nasty 2.5k breakeven run which is the longest Ive had. I ended up down 40 BB on the day. I got up early today around 8:00am because I was tired last night and had a pretty long day so I crashed pretty early. Anyways the tables for some reason are really good early in the morning. The tables today had all the things I look for in them and it paid off very nicely.
Today I managed to have my biggest win this month. I won 56 BB playing $.25/$.50 6 Max LHE and another 15 BB at $.5/$1 HU LHE. Very good day and nice to finally come out way up after a shitty breakeven couple of days. I knew I wasnt playing bad or anything based on the big hands I lost. A lot of the hands were very standard. I was ahead in all of them but my hands just didnt hold up but it happens. I guess the best way to get through variance is to actually play a lot more.
Ive also always been very interested in LHE HU. It seems there really is a trick to becoming very good at this game and its evident in players like Matt Hawrilenko aka. Hoss_TBF and Bryce aka. Freedom25. These guys make a KILLING playing heads up alone. Ive seen them own guys for 100k+ in less then 30 minutes making very calculated calls and plays. (Yes I know Hoss just had a terrible session losing 1.1 Million to Ivey but Hoss still owns and well Ivey... he is the man) I really want to become a force one day in LHE HU but there are a few things stoping me right now.
1. Bankroll - Im almost rolled to be playing the first HU LHE levels which is $.5/$1. I want to be very well rolled before I start playing HU because I know it can be a very swingy event. I have been taking little shots here and there however and doing very well. Most people are sitting with only like 10BB and play so Nitty its very readable and exploitable. I dont think I really have run into a solid HU player but I dont think there is probably such thing at the lowest levels becaue of:
2. Rake - How sick is the rake at the low lvl HU games? I mean if you only have a slight edge over a guy at these levels the only real winner is going to be stars becauase the rake is so high. Ive been thinking of holding of HU until I am rolled atleast for $1/$2 but I need to get some practice in somewhere so I dont really know what I am going to do.
Ill probably just keep playing and taking shots here and there when the game is good and the guy is sitting short because I can put a lot of pressure on the guy which seems to be working at that level. If anyone knows any sites or anything with LHE HU tips or if you have tips yourself Id be ineterested in hearing them. I know a lot of you dont really play LHE so Im not expecting much.
Yesterday I went to London to look at houses for school. A lot of the houses I looked at were pretty shitty Id say. They are close to the school but there in a little village full of sketch bags and Id rather not live in there. The place that really caught my attention was a two bedroom apartment. It was really nice and pretty spacious. Perfect size and right within my budget. There are still a few places that Im going to look at when I head back down there on Friday, this time my room mate will be there so I can get his imput on what he thinks about the places Ive looked at so far. School is right around the corner so I really have to get on this and find a place.
I have to work tomorrow but I heard its slow again this week so I probably will be home before lunch and Ill put in some hands. Im pretty pumped about being able to move up to the next level soon. Hopefully things go well when I do and I crush at this level too. Right now Im beating the level Im playing at for 6BB/100 Tomorrow Im probably going to go back out again for another date with that girl I mentioned a few blogs ago. She wants to meet some of my buddies so Ill probably take her to doolies to play some pool. I told her to bring some friends for my buddies too lol. Hopefully everything goes well and my friends dont make an idiot out of me or themselves for that matter lol.

Ive been playing a bit of HU LHE too and doing alright but Im not really rolled enough to play anything higher then $.50/$1 and still Im not rolled for that either but if the guy is a total donk Ill be glad to take his money.
I dont even want to show you my graph from this morning because it looks like a ski hill and its only 300 hands. I think im going to take it easy today and not really play much. I wont really have anytime to put in hands until later tonight and hopefully the tables get really good then because they have been less then spectacular the last few days.
Im going to London in a bit to look at some houses for school. I hope they arent all just shit student houses. Id rather live a bit farther away from the school and take the bus if it ment I would be living in a really nice house. Anyways Im going to review my hands and get some breakfast. Things didnt go so well this morning and I managed to get stuck 35 BB. My sets and big pairs werent holding up at all so I lost a few pretty big pots which sucked. I needed a little break so I went over to my buddies place, blazed then owned him in NHL 09. I wish If I won in poker as much as I won vs my friends in NHL I would be a Millionaire.
Anyways after that I came home and edcided to get unstuck and also to paly in a donkament. I managed to grind it out and have some big hands hold for me to get into the green again on the day. Im actually still in the donkament but Im pretty short stacked now with under 10 BB. Time to shove. Heres some hands on the day which Im going to start posting to hopefully get some feedback.
Set cracked. I reaaally wanted to call this hand down because this idiot was like 54/10 but I gave him credit. Im not sure if this is a standard call down in LHE? I got a lot of money in there but I think I made the right fold to save a bet. What ever tho it happens.
This was my biggest win on the day. Beleive it or not I am not a fan of capping because it really gives away hand strength in LHE. Instead I try to just C/R the flop 95% of the time but there was so many people that are going to be calling anyways I figured what the hell lets gamboooool and capped it. Those hands I lost are all pretty standard so thats alright. Im not really getting out of line in many of the hands I played today so thats good. I think maybe sometimes I call down with a middle pair or big ace too much but depending on the boards and the players I would say there is still alot of value in my A high hands I lost as well. I was breaking even for about 1k hands too today which sucks lol. Tables were decent as well so all in all Id say I played well but my hands just did hold up which is why I had a bit of a downer today. No problems other then that today.

Just did another session. In 1.2k hands I made 9 BB. Nice lol. Seems like Ive been break even for the last 2.5k hands or so. Variance or bad play? Right now Im saying variance because Im still way up on the month and not losing any money
ALLLLLSOOO I seem to always be way ahead today and fucking plugs are catching me on the rivers. EWE
I ended up having an alright weekend even though I really didnt do a whole lot. I managed to get in some hands but never really got anything going. I took shots at $.5/$1 LHE 6 Max and didnt get really any results. I think Im only down 5 BB but I didnt get in a good sized hand sample to even really see how Im doing.
From what I did play I think that I played a bit tighter just because I was trying to get a feel for this level but playing tighter got me off MY GAME and just played too ABC. It seems like theres a lot more nits too. Im going to take a shot when I have a really solid role for this level. I am very close to being at my amounts of BBs for that level but I think I could use a bit more. The next shot I take will be after I beat the $.25/$.50 for about $150 more. That way I think I will feel more comfortable with the move up and be able to get my game going a bit better. 300 BB by the end of the month is the goal I guess.
Going to put in a very nice session tomorrow and start killing the gym again. Took 2 weeks off because my back was really soar but Its feelin good now and I really want to get back into it.
Fuck man I dont know whats going on today but Ive been playing for about 3 hours and made a whopping $1.25. Prettttty break even the whole time. Just couldnt get anything going. It seemed like I would get a nice stack going then just get coolered everytime on the river and boom back to even. Kinda of a pain in the ass. Look:

Thanks to a break and some herb I just had a sick session. I took a break, went out with some buddies, came home and started only 2 tabling one $.25/$.50 and a $.25/$.50 LHE. I decided I wanted to take a shot at $.50/$.1 because I am really close to being rolled right now.
It went damn good on both tables and I managed to book a pretty nice win. I won about 46BB at the $.25/.$.50 and $15 BB at $.50/$.1. Pretty good. I got a pretty good feel for that $.50/.$1 game so hopefully the games are pretty similar to that one.
Played in a LHE donkament... there was only 500 ppl in it. Things started off strong but I went card dead at the end and buddy rivered a gutter on my KK to bust out 121/500. No money there.
Going to play in a tourney then crash because it sucks having to wake up at 5:00am.
Today was an alright day. I was supposed to go down to London and check out some apartments/houses but that never happened. I guess Im going to go down next Tuesday and check it out. School time is getting closer and closer quickly.
I played a bit today and had a pretty good day. I managed to win back all the money I lost yesterday which happened to be my first losing day this month and it wasnt a big one or anything so Im not complaining. I also watch the final table of WSOP 08. Pretty sick that Eastgate is only 22 and just won 9Milli. Hey is Iven Demidov ANDROIDE from SC? I heard he was a really respected Russian SC gamer and that was one of the big ones when I used to play. I got the bug to play a tourney today too but it didnt go to well and I busted out halfway through the tourney.

Yea I knew today was coming it always does. Variance. It was just one of those days where everything you did was a good move but you got fucked over in the end. Today it just seemed everytime I was raise I would get 3 bet or my big hands wouldnt hold up. Im not sure If imy going to call it quits for today but for sure I am taking a break for now because Im a bit steaming. Not because I lost 25BB which isnt terrible (just over one buy in) but just because these donkeys idiot moves are getting paid off and by the end of the session I just had it was getting REDICULOUS! I havent even put in half the hands I do usually in a day but really I need to just take a chill pill. For the first time I actually shouted out "youve got to be fucking kidding me" I know when donkeys are making stupid moves its an ideal table to be at because your monsters are going to get paid off but they werent... they were getting countered so yea... break time.
Im going out tonight with a girl I dated years ago at the start of high school. I ran into her at the bar the other night and she was lovin what I was offering lol. She was asking me all these questions the next day like why did we ever break up etc. andneither of us could remember lol. It was kinda strange but yea we decided to go out and catch up. And she is looking mighty fine these days too.
Hopefully this little date goes fucking better then the sessions today did lol.

My buddy is a poker player and the other day we were talking and decided to make a bet. Its a race to get our BR to 1k. It isnt a huge bet but I bet him $200 that I would beat him there. Now there is no set time on this bet, its just whoever gets their first wins. Stats must be tracked as well for proof.
Here is the difference. My friend is a straight up NL MTT player. I am a LHE cash game player. I do play a tournament every now and then. His scores would be a lot bigger but a lot less frequent than mine but I win more consistently then him.
I made this bet because straight up my friend is an idiot and thinks he is good at poker becaue he has 2 decent scores but he really has nothing to show for it because he had to pay off his debt. He also has terrible BR management... I dont even know if he knows what it is. He also goes on terrible tilt and gets way to tricky a lot of the time. Ive seen him play a lot and I just dont really think hes good at all. He tries to justify some of his moves to me like raising with 39o and stuff but really he just sounds like an idiot. I think because I am a better player (maybe a bit of ego there but seriously I am) and because I actaully follow strict BR management that I am going to beat him there.
Right now I am about 1/3 of the way there with a BR of $325. I am playing $.25/.$50 LHE 6 max right now and crushing it. Soon Im going to move up and I think from there it should be pretty clear sailing. He will not win this bet plaiyng tourneys because 1. He doesnt play big buy in tourneys and when he wins he usually dumps a lot of it back to the community at cash games + he has no BR management and 2. He is a pretty inconsistent player and tilts way to hard. I got this!

Today was an alrighy day at the tables. Managed to win 60BB. Had a little bit of a down swing but I grinded it back up with some nice table selection. Might play a bit later if the tables are good but Im probably going to go down to the new Boston Pizza they put up around the corner from my place and watch the football game.

Kinda lost focus there for a bit and wasnt playing on good tables. Fixed that up pretty easily and won some nice hands. So far Nov. has been a pretty nice month and stars is really treating me well.

I seriously had the best day @ the tables today. It was a weird day though because I also had my biggest downswing so far this month. I started off the day really well up 70 BB in my first session of the day in only about 300 hands. NICE.
I started up another session mid day and lost 75 BB. I know I was only down 5 BB which is nothing at this point but I havent lost that much yet this month. I took a break and played in a satellite to the Sunday Million but it was a re buy which seriously are just donk fests. Never again... just not my thing. I chilled out, watched the new episode of Entourage (hilarious episode Ari does it again)then some 2 and Half Men which is a hilarious show. Hot brods and Charlee Sheen ahaha.
I went down to the new Boston Pizza by my place to watch the NFL game. They have HUGE TVs in there and its really a nice place. There going to be playing the UFC fights there too which is sick. My buddy brough his new girl... Shes pretty cool and chillen but shes got some history if you get what Im saying. Who knows maybe shes changed? Anyways they left because she wanted to go watch the hills and she dragged him along. Whipped already. I came home and put on the football game and brought up some tables.
I was down a bit so I wanted to make up for donking off all those chips earlier. I opened up 4 of the juiciest games that I could find and managed to win it all back and more! All in all I made 100BB today. Ship it lol. In the last 5 days Ive been murdering these games and soon Ill be taking shots at the next level. Cant wait.
Tomorrow Im getting a much needed haircut and then getting my back checked out because its fucking killing me right now and I think something is wrong. Then maybe hockey depending on how the doctors goes. OH cant forget Ill be on the grind again. Going to see how the tables are early because they were awesome this morning. Might be the time of day thing. All in all... SICK day.

Ive been doing pretty good in my pool at work in football. I managed to go 10/12 which should be good enough for the win unless some miracle happens tonight. This will be the third time Ive won it since I started there. Does anyone do any sports betting online? Here in Canada the only thing we have is Proline. Problem is you have to pick atleast three games and 9/10 times you get fucked somewhere along the line playing it. I think im like 3/25 on proline and I think I would rather put some on just one game if possible. This question goes out to all you sports betters out there. What are good sites to place bets on?
Im going to go make some breaky and then probably play in a tournamnet. Im going to start playing one tourney because one day I will hit hit big lol.
