Pooper SCOOPer
  thewh00sel, Apr 20 2009

Well it's been a little over a week since my scoop win and I haven't really done much. No celebrating, no going out or anything. I played a couple sessions at the Bellagio for like 20k profit or so, played a satellite to the WPT 25k buy in championship and failed unfortunately. So that was that and I decided i'd force myself not to cough up the 25k to play it and I'd wait until next Monday and play the WSOP Circuit 5k event at Caesars. So wish me luck there ^_^.

On a non-poker note, this weekend Bobbie and I are going to go see Kenny Chesney, her favorite country artist at the Hard Rock. I've been with her once before when we lived in Virginia, and although i'm not really a country fan, I'll admit that he puts on a good show. So as embarrassing as it should be, I'm not really too reluctant to go to the show, have a couple beers and a good time. I guess he's like a modern day country Jimmy Buffet, so whatever.

I guess this is where we're sitting since there are no chairs at the bottom so the floor space is standing room only.

Nothing interesting
  thewh00sel, Apr 07 2009

At least not on the poker front. I've played a couple SCOOP events so far with no results, and am down a little bit overall on April but I'm not too worried about it because we finally signed some loan documents and should be finally getting a house.

I don't want to jinx it with pics, i.e i'm too lazy to find some of this house, but our offer was accepted and we did all the paperwork, and as long as something doesn't go wrong with the loan we should be closing on the house no later than the beginning of May. And although that will be cutting it kind of close with getting a pool installed before the WSOP starts, I couldn't care less as long as we can get into this place.

The best thing about this house is that it's a new construction so it comes with a 10 year warranty on anything failing which is the nuts. I am pretty happy that we found a nice non-bank owned property because that's a pretty rare find here in Vegas. It's located in the master planned community of Mountains Edge in the south western part of Las Vegas, about 20min from the Bellagio, a little less to the Rio. Should be a fun summer seeing some online friends who I haven't seen in a while or haven't ever met in person before. Alright, sorry for the lack of pics but I just kind of wanted to make a brief update blog on what's goin on in the life of wh00 since I know you all care so deeply about me ^_^

Oh God March Summaries will now flood the blogs
  thewh00sel, Mar 30 2009

That being said, here's my March summary---

Wow, what a swingfest March was. After playing 5 of the first 8 days of the month online multi's I was sitting down about $700, so about even still and a little annoyed. I had played one of the events at The Wynn Classic and busted out at 200-400 with a mistimed reshove. The following day I took another crack at The Wynn and played the $1500 event #9. Good decision i think . I ended up scooping it no chops etc for $84,400 and that made me a happy camper.

After that win unfortunately I had 11 losing days in a row. And in the results department that equated to a $34,000 downswing and it seemed like another disappointing month, (for those who don't know I had a 66k score at the beginning of February and ended up losing about $30k toward the end of the month to finish at right around 35k for the month). So yeah, I was pretty annoyed. Only $15k of the losses came from online, the other $15k was a 2k and a 3k live tourney followed by a 10k losing session at 10/20 where I shipped a draw into aces and didn't get there.

Anyways, after that brutal swing I managed to final table and take 2nd in the $100 rebuy on pokerstars, followed by a win in the FTP 100 rebuy, ousting jse81 (lilholdem954 on stars) in 2nd and a 3rd final table in the stars 100 rebuy in a span of 3 days of playing. That resulted in an overall profit of $50k and gave me my first $100k month of 2009.

Ship it holler

Cliff Notes: won 80k -> lost 30k -> won 50k -> ship 100k month

The King of Swing
  thewh00sel, Mar 23 2009

Man, I really need to stop losing after I have a big win. was at 90k at my high point this month, now im at around 60k. gross. Also, I did some investigating and it turns out I got all in with AA yesterday a bunch and didnt win any of them. Here's the recap:

-First hand of the warmup AA vs KK all in on 9 high flop, river K.
-in some $150 on FTP AA vs AK all in pre, flopped straight
-in the ftp 6max 100cubed AA < KJ all in pre
-in the sunday second chance AA < ATo for 100bb pot
-also with 30 left in some tourney i lost QQ to JJ for the chiplead =/

There might be more but that's all i can think of, sorry for the whine post but i felt like i was playing well all day and was just waiting for the results to be positive. I didn't really even get frustrated until my last couple tournaments of the day. I guess the results will come. I mean I know I've been running pretty well so far this year anyways, but that doesn't mean i deserve to go on a big getting owned streak. Oh well...Come on some sort of tournament win! it's been at least a week since i won one FFS! -__-

/whining

ps: still haven't heard back from the house yet, should hear back tonight.

Updizzles
  thewh00sel, Mar 21 2009

Well we went and saw Ka last night. It was like a 5/10 as far as cirque shows go. Just way too slow, not nearly enough action/flipping etc. Also, since the last house deal fell through we put a new offer on another house. I'll post more pics if the offer actually gets accepted this time, but this is what it looks like:

282k for this one, 3100 sq feet, gated community. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Merrrrr
  thewh00sel, Mar 20 2009

Well that house didn't work out, apparently someone else was already negotiating for that house when we put our offer in and it ended up selling for less than we offered. grrr stupid realtors not taking our offer even though it was more than what the other offer was. Oh well, I guess I'll update when we try for another place.

In the mean time, poker life has been meh, lost about 20-25k since my win at the wynn, so im slightly behind pace for my goal for the year (50k per month), sitting at an avg of just over 40k per month. Also I have a big tax bill due in April, so that's like a government ordered mandatory downswing right there, but whatever, gotta be paid.

On a positive note, my friend Keith "DaMurdera3" Ferrerra won the 10k main event at the Wynn. It only got like 100 people but he still made about 255k and got a larger version of the trophy that I got. So congrats to him. Here's a pic.

Also, the wife and I are going to see Ka tonight at the MGM, so i'll let you know how that turns out.

Alright well that's all for now, ttyl blogfans
