Long story short, i cashed most of my roll like 6 month ago.
It was one of these moment, where i stared at my roll, thinking "WOW THAT IS SO MUCH MONEY" (was like 1.5k), and then i cashed ALL of it.
Now i can say, that was fucking stupid
After that, i spend most of my time trying different website, just fucking around, putting in 50$, grinding low stakes, trying some SNG / PLO etc. not doing any real money. Each time got to like 200-500 then get bored with the grinding. I really got a problem with grinding, it bores me so fast that i have trouble building my rolls. I guess that the dark side of poker, as a winning players you are supposed to play 95% of the time guy that you own. So there is rarelly this "thrill" that you would get in a normal ladder where you always play people of your skill. It happens only when you move up, wich is a very little portion of your time compared to the time spend grinding limits you already own.
2 weeks ago i wanted to start making real money, so i started with like 400$, and quickly got it up to like 1350$ by sticking to the grind :D
I think my stat are good, i am gonna try a shot at NL 100 as soon as i hit 1.5k
BR = 1350
And here is a random pic for you

Goals
Emi, May 03 2007
Ok, i have been fairly sucessfull those last week,
I have grinded my way in NL 25 with an average of around 15 ptbb / 100
Now i am sitting with :
Everest : 876$
WPX : 350$
The rules i wanna follow is :
- Go to next level at 20 buy in (for next level)
- Go down at 15
- A distinct BR for each website
As long as i am having more than 5 pttbb / 100, i am ok with it.
NL 25
Emi, Apr 19 2007
Ok i am playing nl 25, i guess i am on a heater because my stats are :
1600 hands
+ 200$
24 ptbb/100
So my bankroll is now at 578$, wich is goooood for me since it is my best so far.
If i can reach 1000$ i ll start playing at NL 50
(Obviously this is such a heater that i have to put an ugly pic to balance it :
Good evening
Emi, Apr 17 2007
Stopped the multi tabling 5 tables shit where i play in 1 ms and dont have any read
Now i try to 2 tables and focus, and feels soooooooooooo much more profitable
This evening was my best so far, 100 ptbb / 100 hand at NL 25
weak tigh players, min bet players, and too many callers when i raise (and of course i had lady LUCK)
short stack that are ultra loose (i think that is the funniest thing seing a short stack limp in every pot)
my new read is : insta check on flop = (sometimes) check raise
Players always try to somehow make like they got a hand when it is a real check and so thinks for some secs

Ok, if he had a pair, why would he check it on flop ?
If he had two hight cards (KJ etc.), i beat them
If he has medium overpair, like TT / JJ, why slowplay it since a K or A can come and scare him ?
If he has a monster hand, why not try to extract more by betting on the flop ? And he should be afraid of flush and straigh
Finally, they were two draws on flop, straigh and flush, both missed, so that is the thing the river bet can most probably be

Funny hand of the session
Villain then proceed to win after winning a total of 4 coin flip.
It was i grind a 3/4 to 1/4 advantage, he win he coinflip (with a total donk hand like J3o) rince and repeat 4 times.
---------------------
Ok i just played this hand. First hand against the guy, no history
Since he called my flop bet i putted him with either a 6 or a 7, that is why i just make a "light value bet" at the turn, because i want to get called by a lower pair.
I must admit i am less scared by draws in head ups, since you cant really put that often your opponents on a suited or on connected cards.
Then the river card came and the board was paired. He instantly betted pot in front of me.
That feelt weird. I was thinking, "why is he doing this if he has a 6 ?". Of couse i know it is the move you are supposed to do with the best hand, but it felted so much as a bluff, after all, i have been 2 barreling and he could just have waited for the 3 rd to check raise me.
And then i started re-thinking his previous holding. Maybe he was floating me or on a draw. After all the board was drawish, he might be bluffing since this is the perfect scare card.
So i made the call...

Ok i was having a good 10+ ROI at 20$ head up, then i just took a really bad loosing streak like 5-6 in a row
So now i am gonna grind back the 10$ to boost confidence back
Also, next time i am coming back to the 20$ i am gonna analyse every loosing hands again
BR = 275$

Ok since i think i am really making too many mistake i will review each of the hand where i lost money and try to identify the bad play
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/168836
ok i should not raise the bouton with 44, especially against someone who always limp, this is too marginal. Most of the time i miss and i am in the dark out of position, hard to play afterward. A range of 88 / 99+ seems beeter
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/168838
This hand i dont know if i played it correctly. The "bet pot out of pos" from the villain seemed to me like an attempt to steal the pot and so my raise was a "get of my pot" kind of move (i am very agressive and most of the villains ussually slow play there big hands like top pairs), no way i can put him on that draw
The main thing i am wondering is wether a push on the turn is better here or not, i mean i wanted to let him a chance to re-re-raise bluff at me by not putting him all in
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=168841
I should not "value bet" on river when he can be slowplaying some monster... He could have a 3 as well, and he is not calling anything with less than my hand so that is just -EV
Some news
Emi, Apr 03 2007
Ok, i had no update for a long time.
I see all other people blog like "omg see my huge ptbb / hands" "omg i am on a heater !!!" "omg so much money" !!!
I think that mainly nobody is inspired to make a blog post after loosing money or on a big downswing. It is like taking a knife and hitting your own wounds :D That is certainely why "there is no loosing player in poker" kind of legacy, people dont lie, but they dont brag much about how they lost 20 BI in the blink of a (tilty) eye
Basically, what i did was : Winning a little bit, thinking omg this is less than minimun wage !!!! and going higher stakes without the BR. Tilt there, lose some, go back.
Rince and repeat like 5 times.
Afterwards, i had a méga tilt night where i lost 2/3 of my BR. Work got me angry (you shoudlnt play to forget problems, that generate BR problem, poker is not dota or trackmania where u play a game to basically "fuck up everything" ) so i started loosing in NL 25, and in a méga tilty move i started playing 50$ head up. Lost 3 of them in a row (i was playing so bad... insulting people and running mega air-tilty-bluff)
Bottom line : from like 230$ i went to 50$ in a very short hour
Anyway... The bottom line is :
- You should always play within a fixed BR strategy (ie for exemple : "i ll play 50 of 5$ head up and we'll see" and not "lets play and see what happens")
- You should not play because u have personnal issues that makes u angry, forgetting how life is shit is better in playing DOTA, better be called a noob than loosing half BR
Anyway, as i always felt asleep when playing 10 or 6 handed, i decided to play head up : i think these game are those where u play the most with your brain, while many other game format are "auto play" that makes u feel like u are working at some chain production... And i have felt again the love for poker that i had forgotten for some time.
I am still a newbie donkey, but i think i am starting to have a good edge in this game, i will try to summurise it :
- Lots of donks only limps with button (or make stupid play like sometimes all in for winning a little blind) while i raise a lot (like 70% of the hands) from the button
Bottom line is, since these donks almost all over-call out of position (lets say easilly 80% of the time), it is like i am playing a head up but with 3 times the blinds when in position... Quite an edge if i am not sucking.
Another thing i noticed, is that you should be very very careful when u wanna make a play out of position... The pot can get very big very fast, and u better have to pick very good hands and spot to make a move. After all, it is not there u are supposed to make the profit, but on the button... I think i have learned this now, dont try to make too many plays out of position just because that guy is betting each flop and such..
And my main mistake, is still, tilty play. Can easilly happen after a bad call or a suckout, i can turn into a psychotic maniac... I got to stop on that, but i think i am improving.
Anyway, here are my stats :
I dont know if a ROI of 10 is ok or not for head up, but i am quite happy with it. Ok i am not even making half the minimun wage, but the whole point is gaining experience...
If there are some experienced head up players out there i will be very happy if they can give me tips (ok i didnt showed any hands or anything, but some head up HH of very good head up players would be interessting or links to very good head up discussion
I wanna keep grinding the 5$ and 10$ Sng till 400$ where i will take a shot at those 20$ sng.
So now :
Br = 209$
Wish you guys all luck
