UFC 91 picks
  Fox, Nov 14 2008

Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar

not much to say about this, this wouldn't be a quesiton if Randy was 38-39 range. Apparently he has to prove himself again. Randy's ability is to pressure his opponent and break them mentally. Enter in a guy who's got a 2-1 record.... with almost no MMA experience.

Sorry but yeah lesnar is a monster but randy wins this TKO 4th round.

Joe Stevenson vs. Kenny Florian

Florian is really a gamer, he's beaten guys with good standup and guys with good ground. he's very balanced and his strength is awesome. He's also tasted 5 rounds for a title so he's upgraded. Joe is also awesome and he has the tools to win, unfortunately i don't know if he can finish kenny and 3rd round kenny is gonna be more fresh and if Joe wilts at all kenny wins.

UD for Kenny.

Nate Quarry vs. Demian Maia

quarry big and strong and has power. He's not flashy or super talented but he's solid and experienced and that could pose a problem for Maia. Unfortunately i can't bet against maia because his guard is too sexy and i really think he's upgraded for this fight. Maia 2nd round sub or UD.

Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory

Dustin by armbar. McCrory not good enough to stop Dustin's slick bjj

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks

Gonzaga by armbar. Hendricks has good wrestling but not enough all around skill to keep from getting tapped.

Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley

Riley by UD. Gurgel is an idiot.

Matt Brown vs. Ryan Thomas

Thomas i guess, don't know enough about them to call it.

Mark Bocek vs. Alvin Robinson

Bocek got pounded out by Franky so i'm gonna go with Robinson.

Jeremy Stephens vs. Rafael dos Anjos

Stephens by strikes 2nd round.

UFC tomorrow
  Fox, Oct 17 2008

Michael Bisping vs. Chris Leben
People all say bisping and they are probably right. Flip side leben is a tough dude, and short of anderson silva he hasn't been finished. If bisping finishes him then he's a legit contender for a title shot. I do think this is a decision with leben losing. But lots of shots thrown, this is gonna be a fun fight.

Brandon Vera vs. Keith Jardine
Jardine is tough. He's a threat to beat anyone cuz he's so tough and he has this style that grinds out all fights. He's almost like a jon fitch but he stands.. kinda like a leg kicking tim sylvia with less power.. who is tough to deal with but he's not some super human threat to explode on you. That being said jardine got obliterated in close combat against wandy. in fact i think jardine just doesn't like to fight close and likes to keep a distance (hence his use of leg kicks) If vera comes explosive and can get close he wins. I pick jardine by decision though. If jardine finishes vera i'll be very impressed. Jardine beating chuck and forrest is not luck. he is a top fighter. he has great skills i just don't know HOW good he can be, if he finishes vera he's right in the mix again at 205.

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Luis Arthur Cane
oh my fucking god this is gonna be a slugfest. I'm actually gonna pick Cane. I think sokoudju is overrated and he has to show me to prove he can be as good as his 2 kos early are. Cane though has some nice skills i see him winning this.

Chris Lytle vs. Paul Taylor
Chris by all sorts of stuff, he's just a superior fighter.

Marcus Davis vs. Paul Kelly
PREPARE FOR THE GRENADE. DAVIS BY STRIKES.

Dan Hardy vs. Akihiro Gono
They are setting up gono, he's gonna be in the mix when you talk about top 10 170ers.

Jim Miller vs. David Baron
God 155 has so many good fighters. I'm gonna pick Baron cuz he's shooto. But this should be a great fight

Shane Carwin vs. Neil Wain
Shane should win this, he's enormous even for a HW pretty sure wain is like a tiny tubby guy. Shane by strikes 1st/2nd.

Sam Stout vs. Terry Etim
I always go with the good ground fighter here. Etim is better, Stout has a punchers chance, bu i'm going with Etim by decision or sub.

Per Eklund vs. Samy Schiavo
Yawn. Two uero fighters Per wins though

Jess Liaudin vs. David Bielkheden
David ezmode. highlight time imo.

Poker lesson learned
  Fox, Sep 23 2008

For you microstake players NL100 and lower... So i've been doing better and better with poker as time goes on. It's been a learning experience and in the end what really helped me are these things.

Playing a shitton of hands, then going back and looking any hand that i was dealt a premium hand, any hand that i 3 bet, any hand that i called a 3 bet, and any hand that i won or lost 30+ bb. Go through the motions find the ones that i might have done wrong and either fix it or find someone who's better then me fix it.

Tilt Control and Bankroll management. I remember posting in a thread about high stakes.. we are talking NL5000+ and i remember Myth saying that the top top players are usually better then everyone else because they have supreme tilt control and bankroll management. Obviously skill is important but at high levels being able to control yourself and manage your swings HAS to be important. I mean at top levels everyone you're playing is very skilled and what can seperate you is how often they make stupid mistakes from tilt vs how often you make them. Being able to drop down when you're on a bad streak. etc. Yeah i only play NL100-200 but this really helped me a lot in controlling my play and when i take shots at higher limits.

So in conclusion you have to focus hard, don't get out of control and just try to learn poker. Yeah it's money but watching videos and looking at other peopel's hand history isn't enough. It's about learning on your own and you do that from playing lots of hands and analyzing your OWN play. I mean I used to have the hardest time dealing with 3 betting agressive players at NL100-200 and now i know exactly how to approach them and how to crush them. Tons of good players from this site would explain it to me but it never really CLICKED until i understood what type of boards to shove on, what my equity was vs his range... it just went from "WTF DO I DO HERE" to "I KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO APPROACH THIS!" and i learned this just from trying new things when I was on the tables.

GL to everyone and may you win tons of money on the tables... just not from me!
