today sucked. i was deep in the $112r1a (16 left), i get moved to a new table. guy to my right opens to 5k 3 times consecutively, i 3b him the 3rd time to 13,500 otb with q9. he flats after timing down. flop comes king high he checks. i shove 27k into a 29k, and he snaps w/ k6. GG ME. i also ran quite terribly in sit-n-gos, though i was able to win an $11 super-sit-n-go, almost completing the super-sit-n-go trifecta. i've now had three 2nds in the $55s, which is SUPER lame. i think you get approx. $180 in free money everytime you win one.
i won't care about any of this after i ship the million this week. fuck you super-sit-n-gos!
back on the grind

hey everyone, i decided to write another blog. i've noticed lately that my ability to write has deteriorated significantly, and blogging is a nice way to curb boredom.
poker has been going okay. i was offered a backing deal in october of '09, and started playing the $26 and $75 45-mans on ftp, as well grinding 100NL and MTTs. i crushed immediately, which was surprising as i had limited experience playing 45-mans, particularly non-turbos. around mid-december i dedicated myself to moving up to 1/2, and got absolutely destroyed. i ran 2k under EV and most likely played my C game for most of the month. i took a few weeks off and tried again with similar results, eventually busting my ftp account. fortunately, i won about 5k in MTTs on stars, so i wasn't totally busto. unfortunately, i was feeling depressed and unmotivated, and wasn't putting in the necessary hours to remedy my situation. my backer was doing poorly on ftp as well, so he was unable to reload my bankroll, thus putting me in an awkward situation. since then, i've been grinding on stars with reasonable success in the $16-$38 18-mans. this week they're running the "super sit-ng-gos", which are non-turbo 40-mans with a bonus if you win. i'm extremely excited about this as the structure is similar to the ftp 45-mans, but with antes which is obviously even better. i played a bunch of them yesterday, and was able to win two of the $22s, but sadly fell short in the $55s with two disappointing second place finishes.
outside of poker, i've been enjoying the new beach house album, watching a lot of basketball, and even had the pleasure of seeing lebron and shaq up close with seats right behind the cavs bench vs. the grizz a few weeks back. shaq and jj hickson were waving at these two groupies in the row directly in front of us, which was totally awesome. i dug it. also, i saw the band polysics live a few days ago, they're absolutely amazing and hilarious. i would reccomend seeing them perform, even if their genre of music isn't appealing to you.
well, that's about it. good luck to everyone in the $4 million this week. i hope to culminate a week of solid grinding with a big cash, so i can be rich again!
hi everyone at lp

so, i've decided to start a blog. i've always enjoyed writing, and at this point in my life i need a motivational tool to curb boredrom; hopefully this blog does the trick.
here's a little history about my poker "career":
i play on stars as thrilliswear. in late 2008 i was a 50NL reg, occasionally playing 100 and 200NL when the games were good. during this 2-3 month period i was basically playing anything that looked fun or appealing, within reason. i enjoyed to challenge of playing higher-than-normal stakes and my interest in poker was rejuvenated. i was also dabbling in PLO, full-stacking 50PLO and shortstacking up to 400PLO. it was extremly fun and swingy, and my interest in the game was parlayed into a 1k+ win in an 11r PLO tourney. around mid-november i had spent probably around 3k+ of my new found wealth (lol) on clothes, nice dinners, and a shit ton of alcohol. i began drinking 3-6 beers daily, usually by myself, and usually while playing PLO. somehow this was profitable, and thusly i reccomend this strategy to all recreational players. after all of this frivolous spending and world-class poker play i was left with around 2k to my name, 1k of which was online. after a small stretch of laziness, my laptop was stolen, which led to 2 months of full-blown apathetic life-tilt. i used up the majority of my savings replacing my laptop and ds (also stolen), and proceeded to deplete my online roll. after a few brief chances at a return to relative robustoness (fail), i spent the next 2 months moping and bemoaning my situation. now it's almost march 2009, the month in which my 21st birthday falls, and i have $150 on stars and very little cash. i don't know what my plan is for poker, other than grind when i feel like it and try to improve.
i know that was really long, but once i started writing, it was very therapeutic and allowed me to reflect on some poor decisions i've made.
anyway, thanks for reading. i'll make another blog soon that's about my interests outside of poker, which will complete my introductions.
keep it real
