Solid week. Today I got my first dose of the 12 dollar level. Not much different, got hit by a 3 outter on the river 4 handed in one for a ginormous stack, which sucked. But still made for an up day. I'm really feeling good about my game right now and also my mindset. Not really getting tilted by bad beats as much, just know they are gonna come.
Something I've done recently is started to realize the showdown value of hands. I've been seeing alot more cheap showdowns and it's been paying off.
Things to work on would be not spewing as much, people are just stations, it doesn't matter how many barrels you fire they aren't folding so if i miss with AK give it a cbet and then give up.
So I'm a big fan of Tech, and I recently made a Pandora station with the theme of Tech N9ne...and it literally just plays his songs. I think this a actually really an accurate station, and there really isn't anyone like him. Not to say he's the best alive or anything, but I really can't come up with anyone who has a remotely similar sound.
Anyone else a fan/anyone know of anyone similar just out of curiosity?
Speaking of music, I've been getting into some new guitarists, which prolly makes zero sense given the rest of the post, but i play and have alot of respect for alot of guitarists. I'm a big fan of oldschool guys like billy gibbons, hendrix, buddy guy and the likes. I've always hated on alot of the "newer" guitarists, just out of idiocy for the most part, but I've recently fallen in love with one guitarist in particular

Suppose it wouldn't hurt to try and post results every week, so I'll try to get it done on Saturday nights.
This is a fairly even mixture of 5.50 45 mans and 3.30/6.50 90 man ko's with some 4.40 rush on demands splashed in. I think there are some 12 dollar rushes as well, maybe 3? Not sure.

Really feel like my game is progressing alot. Getting a much better feel for pot control/hand strength. Just gotta keep getting better, never be confident as to where I am.

Anyways, I got involved in a staking site, and got staked to play micro SnG's. Playing around the 6 dollar level with decent success right now. I basically play 6 dollar 90 mans and 5 dollar 45's and splash 3's for volume/variance control. The 3's are insane soft.
I've also messed around with the 4 dollar rush on demands, but I'm not a big fan. Everyone nits around and I feel like I have to cooler everyone to get anywhere in them.
As far as life goes, pretty meh. Enjoying the house and finally getting caught up on bills. Also, playing random 1/2 live with AWFUL drunk people is fun, just saying. I also just got a new puppy, which is awesome. Brindle great dane/boxer mix if you are curious.
Hmmm... Have been working out a bit and watching the diet a little. Trying to lose some weight since my job is sitting around answering phone calls (when i work which is rare).
Need to find something else to supplement the wifes income, hopefully I can keep running OK on poker and grind out more than a part time job (which I feel shouldn't be hard).
Things I've been doing in poker:
-working on multi-tabling: I feel MUCH more comfortable with 8ish tables than I did before.
-Getting more volume: this comes with the first thing, but also i've just been putting in more time...less CoD more making money
-Doing Hand Histories: I have some very close friends who are really good players at the higher levels (109's and such) and they are some of the backers for my SnG action. One has been doing some HH's with me and it's really helped find some leaks in my game. It is definitely helping me with pot control, and knowing when to try to get value when to just check behind. I'm going to try to do something like this at least every other week. I may start paying him small sums to make up for it, even though we would be talking on skype anyways more often than not...
Mostly just trying to make my game more solid. I tend to spew some, and I'm really working on pot control and not getting into awkward spots. Also getting much better at shove/fold, and working on ICM. I have a grasp of it which is more than most players at my lvl, I just need to spend some more time in the math of things.
overall I feel like my poker game is greatly improving, and it feels good to be getting better at something. The plan is to keep plugging away, keep getting better, and hopefully make some money outta this deal.
I believe thats about it for now... I might try to do like...weekly updates, maybe some charts from HEM or something....who knows...

Anyways, for November I have alot I'd like to get accomplished.
I'm starting a new job this week, and need to get on a normal human schedule....which shouldnt be that hard given I'll have to work every day at 8:30 am. Hopefully things brings a healthy change to my life. I've definitely been eating better of late which is good. I definitely need to start exercising more.
I've looked into a few running routines that I should be able to knock out rather quickly on a daily basis, so ill be starting there. Hopefully this new job means more extra money and I can invest in a gym membership. I love lifting and miss it alot. I think exercising will also help me sleep, as it seems my problem is after 8 hours of sleep, I want to be awake for more than 16 hours, which really messing things up.
As far as poker, I'm just going to keep getting it in good, triple this staking thing, start a new one involving either 6 dollar 90 mans or a splash of 6s and small MTTS.
Played some more...still running really good in them...would like to get a good days volume in tomorrow...only got about 20 Ninety mans in today...but running at over 100% roi is fun...weeeeeee ride the heater i guess....gonna play some more...also...anyone around the STL area know any good casinos with low stakes (20-30 dollar BI) tournaments that run regularly...looking for some live action just to have some fun and screw with fish...

Well, had some promise tonight...was 4/100ish in the 2 dollar rush rebuy....got like.....80th or something ... for like 30 bucks...so ok return on investment....also was top 100 in a 5 dollar 6 max on PS...so that was like...15 bucks....
The 6 max ended crappily with someone hero calling me with 3rd pair on a k496A board that i 3bet pre, check check, he checks i bet he raises i call and shove river remaining like...15bb and get called by TT... w/e...i had q9 and put him on an underpair to the board...and an underpair to my nine....i was close...guy was weak...w/e
in the rush i just got 3bet to a shitty stack after i'd built up and then 3bet shoved KJs 20bb deep and get snapped with A6o...nothing u can do...
In other news, poker=profitable and i just need time to put in more volume
I am sad, because I started watching a video on there with a free 7 day trial...and cant watch the continuation. And i can't afford a subscription...and it makes me emo cuz the vid was awesome....sigh
So I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these/thoughts. I was thinking they should be profitable and something I could use to add volume. I was messing with the Ultra turbo ones, just using a chart and doing ok with them. Any other advice/experience with these?
