No money at other poker
  Forrest Gump, Oct 12 2014

Everyones better each day and player volume decrease over time
Still it may be some profit to be made at:

Razz (2/4 to 5/10 mostly): 5.69 BB/100 in 5K hands with SD of 8.874. That means that in a worst case scenario I should be a 2BB/100

Triple Draw (2/4 to 15/30 mostly): 1.95 BB/100 in 35K hands with SD of 19.52. That means that I could be a loser and that's not a reasonable sample size.

Badugi (2/4 to 5/10 mostly): -2.07 BB/100 in 11K hands. Not a sample, but a winner without rake. Still a small chance to be a 1BB/100 winner with bad luck. But I better try to fix leaks, table select harder and put more volume before reaching conclusions

Thanks to MadeInPolanD who post in the "petition against spin n go" thread this link:

the game I studied most, and didnt finished
  Forrest Gump, Aug 20 2014

This is Triple draw 2014 graph. I lost last year hands but I lost 2K trying to learn the game from 0. Key things about the graph:
- first 17K hands are 1/2 - 5/10
- then its 2/4 - 30/60 and started table selecting better
- average is 1BB/100

here it is:

What I learnt from this game:
-Best EV drawing decisions
-Think about ranges
-When to 3b with 2 card draw pre
-Avoid dangerous instaplays
-Card removal and blockers dont change the game a lot (unless you saw the 4 cards of that rank)

What I need to review:
-The never ending search for the best way to split ranges
-How people is biased with the first hands you play against them
-Automatize my HU lines

Thanks for your time, I just needed to write something somewhere and kill time

Addictive game
  Forrest Gump, Mar 14 2014

How about a simple game with some luck factor?

I'd love to see a game like this or continuous poker played for cash

Physical training
  Forrest Gump, Nov 30 2013

I had ups and downs. But since Im starting to play poker again I want to find the perfect balance. I have problems concentrating after doing some sport or physical activity (including sex). Is there any routine or training method that allows you to stay sharp for a poker session later? Even Im not in my 100% for the next day sometimes.

Also, I notice that some activities are not compatible for poker.
For example I noticed that Table tennis puts you in the mood of reacting fast without thinking too deep and I translate that to the table, which is like tilting. If I do something like bouldering I work a lot of small painfull fibers but dont drain all my energy becouse my forearm gets tired first. Also the moves are more controlled, so I can sustaing a poker session with that mindset.

Im overthinking too much and just have to give up the games and rest?
What do you think? What's the best sport/activity to combine in a poker lifestyle and why?

One more year learning in my path to the 8 games
  Forrest Gump, Nov 27 2013

So, as an update of my games. I've learnt some 2-7 TD, Badugi and Razz, enough to beat fish and survive vs regs. But that's not enough for grinding next year. Playing vs regs at 3/6+ is boring and life consuming, and probabbly Im doing worst than break even. So, im going to keep studying in my career and other games next year, while playing some 2-7, Badugi, Razz and Stud8 from tournament series (no more than $500 probabbly) and play with fish no more than 10/20 depending fishyness
So, right now Im going back to my origins and learning NLHE again and waiting for a seven card stud book to arrive. So far I played like 3K hands of NL50 6max lately and it looks easy to beat. I see them somewhat passive with slow adaptation, but its ok for me to experiment some lines. Also, gonna see if I can watch some videos to get more present ideas of the game
I already been posting some at 2+2 as well since this forum is not as active as before, but I just got tired of seeing so much fishy post. Like asking ambiguous questions like how to play a $300 tournament in UK in the -Poker theory- section. Jeez, I just want to see a subfoum where ppl at least did a course in game theory or read a book. Same happens in the -draw poker- section. All hands discussed are from 1/2 and below and sometimes the answer can be found with pen and paper.

Year didnt end, but Im like -2K down. I think is like
-1.5K tournaments (22 - 500)
-500 Stud8 (2/4 - 10/20)
-1K 2-7 (2/4 - 30/60)
+500 Badugi (2/4 - 20/40)
+1K Razz (2/4 - 30/60)

lol at sample size, but I dont see myself grinding next year. Games became tougher at Razz and Stud8, games I tought I was going to grind.
Lets keep learning and enjoying life. Peace

Im back (5 years break)
  Forrest Gump, Jun 26 2013

After 5 years trying to find myself, Im back. I feel like poker is the mental sport I needed to be sharp at life. Lot of things happened to me theese years
Im physically fitter, I live with a stable gf and Im emotionally more stable. Maybe having a son will be something that will complete me, who knows.

With bussiness I was doing sport arbitrage betting and grew a decent bankroll, but it seems to not be so good anymore today. I had some other bussinees failed, so I decided to give poker another try

I know its not probabbly the best time to. I've seen a lot of NL400-NL1K playing NL100! and people doing the 3b or fold in NL50? When I've seen it first time in NL400 back in 2008 (but I think NL100 are not very good turn+river today). But I did not care. I decided to learn other games.

I learnt the basics of almost every game and decided to specialize in Stud hi lo. Oh man, its like going back to the 2000, no tracker, same regulars every day, bad players. And you need only a small sample size to know your new opponents. Tournaments are full of fish as well. So, now I can say I'd play up to 10/20 if there are any fish or 2 weak players. But good games dont run very often so Im trying to specialize at Razz now and who knows what then. Razz sems to have a lot more weak players than Stud hi lo, but it takes more time to win becouse pots are small and plays are automatic.

Next game in my list: Stud hi

New record
  Forrest Gump, Sep 28 2008

Yesterday I I had my biggest downswing in my life in $(-4K) and bi(-10). After reviewing my hands I can say that I underestimated variance. Im not gonna complain about the bad beats, only make some cold decisions (you cant mix you emotions with poker): I quit to try to be a professional poker player. That is Im gonna be playing a lot less and put poker in the bottom of my priorities (I noticed I was missing some events becouse I was playing poker)

I see in front of my eyes a lot of oportunities and things with less variance. What's the point of continuing playing a game where I see a dark path, where I dont learn anything new, I dont make interesting friends, I have no curriculum.
