  znb, Apr 14 2008

Today I've entered a 5+0.5 30 ppl mini tournament. First 3 places were paid. Unfortunately I've busted out in 3rd, but whatever, I'm above 500$ now. Last hand was 4betted allin with 88 and AA called me, /cry

I was chipleader, from the second lvl with that hand:

Tournament BR boost
  znb, Apr 13 2008

So, after playing some WoW tonight and bored my ass off I've entered a 5+0.5$ 2,5K guaranteed tourney on UB with about 550 participants. First 60 places paid, but until the FT there were really poor prices. I was pretty carddead until the first break, but I could double up several times and I was above the avarage chipstack. I was playing my usual tight aggressive style, and when the bubble came closer I started to play looser. Because of that I doubled and halfed my stack pretty often, but finally I could manage to survive and get in the final table. Because there were shorter stacks then me, I've been patient and it was really worth it. Altough I could not win big pots, I could hold my position after my busto hand. I wanted to steal blinds from the button with T9o, BB called. Flop came T62 with two hearts. Because I didn't have much money to protect my hand I've gone allin, and BB called me with a FD and he hit on the river. I've busted out in 5th place and got a nice 162$ addon to my 330$ BR, woohoo.

Funniest hand of the tourney:

Week 1 at NL10
  znb, Apr 12 2008

So far, so good! I'm up to 10+ buyin in a week at NL10. Started at 200$, and now I have 310+. I'm not playing too much tho, 1,5-2 hours session per day. I just don't wanna get bored and feel myself forced to play. With that tendency I could hit 500$ in 1,5-2 weeks and could thinking about move up to NL25 if I'm confident with my play.

Some keyhands from my last session, which is just ended before I started to write my blog entry.

Overall I'm playing 19.5/11/1.8 I dont know if it's good for fullring or not. Sometimes I feel I'm too tight, but I just want to play ABC at NL10 as much as possible.

Have a nice weekend guys!

PS: I just hate UB hand history, because LP cannot translate properly the pots.

Introducing myself
  znb, Apr 04 2008

Hey LP, I think it's time to start my own blog, and in good style I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Albert and I'm a 22 years old Computer Science major in a local college. I'm playing poker for about a 1,5 years now online and IRL also. It just became "serious" in the last 2-3 months. That doesn't mean I want to play poker for living, but it could be a nice addon to my budget.

I've got my first 10$ on UB by winning a freeroll, and I was grinding on 6max .5+.05 normal/turbo SnGs. Well in less then a month I've made it to around 70$. There were some downswings, which destroyed my confidence (ofc I know, those low stakes SnGs and CCs are the worst part of building a bankroll but whatever). After I stuck around that 70$ I started to play regular tours and finished in the money several times. Suddenly I've got a bankroll about 200$. At that point I started play NL10 FR, mostly on 3-4 tables simultaneously. I would feel myself more casuable at NL5 yet, but UB is missing those tables.

On the whole I'm playing a patient tight aggressive poker online and offline too. Among my IRL poker friends without any immodesty my reading abilty and logic is a bit above the avarage. I'm trying to implement these things into my online game. Sometimes it's working, sometimes it's not, but I'm gaining confidence and I think I'm slowly getting better and better by learning from my mistakes.

I know it's not so big money most of you guys, but I have to start somewhere and it looks a really bid fair.
