Up and down...
RAHZero, Jun 06 2007
Today was another awesome day, but it should have been so much better. It started off with me running terribly at NL $200, and deciding to jump into an NL $400 game with a buddy-listed donk who'd managed to build a 150 BB stack. I slowly chipped away at my losses at NL $200, and won a decent pot at NL $400 for +$100 with a pure bluff. Then I hit this hand against the afforementioned donk for my first $1k pot:

After that, I started to run sick hot at NL $200. Some hands just to demonstrate:

Just a ridiculous flop for me. All the money was going in no matter what, so with the check-raise in perfect relative position I won an extra $18.

Slowplaying those kings will kill ya!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207665
Um, thank you?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207666
Yeah, I run g00t.
However, after I broke $2k I ran into a brick wall. I probably should have stopped then, since I wasn't playing my A game any more, but the tables were just so juicy. I dropped a bunch before making a little back, for the day shown below:
All in a all a pretty damn good day (my second-best ever after yesterday), but more than a little frustrating. Still, I can't complain. June is going more than as well as planned, my BR is back in pre-cashout shape, and I should be continuing to take shots at NL $400 and maybe even higher as the month progresses.
Big Day, Part II
RAHZero, Jun 06 2007
As promised, some hands from the big day.
The Good:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207202
Biggest pot of the day. Was getting sick odds to call the flop push, then hit a beautiful turn.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207203
Second biggest pot. Way to call my 3-bet with a completely dominated hand, sir.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/206767
Hand against a fellow LPer. Sorry dude, thought you were making a move on the flop with a draw, then I hit that turn and well...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207204
I like playing against monkeys. The minraise to induce a push has actually become one of my favorite moves against these aggro-tards.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207206
Very nice call down. Turn bet is a little funky, but I figured he's drawing dead, so keep him in since I'm pushing any river.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207209
One of my best played hands of the day. Villain is a TAGfish, and his line just doesn't add up here. What real hand can he possibly have after checking the river, after I checked through the turn?
The Bad:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207210
OK sir, I'll call your minbets with a gutshot... BINGO... Oops.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207211
Freakin' A... Standard.
This is why I'm hot...
RAHZero, Jun 06 2007
WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Best day ever:
Was actually even slightly better than this, total was +$2,135.95. Anyway, my huge ass beginning of June update didn't post for some reason, so I'll just update in a couple days. Basically, before today June was a ton of hands and little profit (well, win-rate wise, that is). However, today was just pure sickness. Got really frustrating in parts, but I made it to $2k! Hands to come tomorrow. As is, I'm well on pace to shatter my 75k hand and +$10k goals, but we'll see if I can keep up this amount of grinding.
May Results / June Goals
RAHZero, Jun 05 2007
Alright, so I'm a little late here, but I haven't gotten a chance to update this since I got back home from Cali. Anyway, May was a little disappointing, I grinded a ton after finals ended but went through a couple rough swings. Overall, I finished up $3.3k, rakeback and bonuses included. No graphs, unfortunately, since my PT screwed up and my stats are way off. The last post was the last chance I got to play in May, but I've been grinding a ton since I got back from my trip. My June goals are pretty much what I wrote in the last post, at least 75k hands and at least $10k total profit. I'm off to a good start, thanks to playing a shitload of hands over the last 2 and a half days. Early June stats / graphs / random thoughts to come tomorrow.
Grindin'
RAHZero, May 26 2007
So, since today was really my last day to play in May, I decided I wasn't stopping until it was a 1k day. I made it, but it took the insane grinding demonstrated below:
Lot of coolers, bad beats, and more than my share of lucky breaks. KK was a loser for the day (only down $4 though), and is currently up a total of $30 for the month. I swear, every time I get dealt KK now I'm sure someone else has aces. Not sure if I'll have time to get in a quick session tomorrow before I leave for California. If not, this will leave May at a little over +$3k all told, which is about the same result as last month. I plan to grind a TON of NL $200 in June, and I'm thinking of setting a +$10k goal, which will require me playing a ton hands, and running well. I think I can put in the hands, as evidenced by my two 5k hand days this past week, and my total of 25k hands played over the last 8 days. Let's say 75k hands and +$10k in June?
Worst day ever...
RAHZero, May 25 2007
So last night I decided to take a shot at NL 400, mixing in 4 tables with my regular set of NL 200. That went really well... not. Just got absolutely effed by the deck, made a couple bad plays, and ended the session down 2k total, which really sucks. Anyway, I also cashed out like 2k today to go towards paying for school, so my BR is way down. Gonna be grinding NL 200 like crazy for the next couple months, I guess.
Can you say back-to-back?
RAHZero, May 23 2007
Damn straight! Second +$1k day in a row, and now all of a sudden I'm back ahead of where I was before my downswing. Today actually eclipsed my winningest day of yesterday by a few bucks. And yes, I did quit after I won the last big pot, with a slowplayed flopped set (!!!) that stacked two guys on the turn, one with TPGK and another with top two. Games were still mad profitable, but I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in ages, and the tables will still be there tomorrow. Graph to enjoy:
Oh yeah, and the next couple days will be last days to play poker in May. I'm leaving Saturday night for California, and will be there until the end of the month, so I have a couple days to add to my totals for this month. Right now, I'm up about $4kish total with rakeback and bonuses factored in, which isn't close to what I wanted to reach but still my best month to date. Guess June will have to be my breakout month, now that I know I'm capable of putting in ~75k hands in a month with school out of the way.
Feels like heaven...
RAHZero, May 23 2007
Not quite, but very nice nonetheless. How do you break out of a downswing? With your biggest winning day ever. Hopefully this will snap me out of the funk of the past couple days. Was pretty frustrating at first after I went up $500 and then had a ~$1k downswing back down to -$500, and a grind overall, but hey, it paid off. Graph:
May sucks...
RAHZero, May 22 2007
Or more accurately, the last 3 days in May have sucked. I'm in the middle of my worst downswing ever, and trying to keep my head on straight. Everything is going wrong: I'm not hitting any draws / combo draws, I'm flopping TPTK or two pair against sets way too often, I'm not hitting any sets myself, and whenever I get it in on the flop against a draw, it's hitting. That said, I know I'm playing good poker, so I'm confident that it'll turn around. If it goes too far, I'll move down for a little bit. May graph for fun:
Luckily, May hasn't actually been this bad, I'm up ~$800 and have earned another $1k or so in RB and bonuses.
I'm rich, biatch!
RAHZero, May 09 2007
Not really, but my BR is finally over $10k. Took a while, since I've made a few cashouts this month to pay for some Summer vacations.
Also, May's off to a good start. I've played like 5k hands over the past 3 days, and figure I can play at least 2k hands a day once all my finals are over. May graph so far:
