IM BACK
  GoTuNk, Mar 06 2011

I didn't wanted to blog anymore as I felt I failed in every goal I had for the summer break and felt kinda embarrased, specially about poker.
I didn't excercise, didnt eat healthy (doesnt matter as I was expecting to massive drink) and did REALLY bad at poker.

After losing around 40bi's at nl100 I moved down (should have waaaaaaaay earlier) I lost another 8bi to almost busto at nl50, but I've made around 15bi during february that makes my bankroll healthy enough. I didn't cash fpp though, currently at 105k (1300 usd for non supernova)

I still think i've learned a lot of poker and should just put the volume to move back up again.

My business going great, sells won't stop and we even ordered a 2nd shipment with 8k, 12k, 32k and 48kg bells (we had 16,20,24 kg before)

I also picked up STARCRAFT again with the intentions of quitting when summer break is over, but I will quit after I win ISL =). I qualified for Ro32 of ISL given i'm a huge geek and played 200 games in 3 weeks after quiting for like 1 year and I'm very good at
p v z (ISL=http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=190866)

Anyways, I think its time to come foward and actually pick up the EV+ route of cut on drinking/play more poker so I can get fit and win some moneys finally.

Wanna a add an e-blow job to TalentedTom cause I really like his advice for every hand that is posted here.

Also I'm looking foward AC Milan to finally win Serie A after gattuso's goal which meant 1-0 over juventus and a momentary 8pts lead over Inter (it makes me super happy aside from being Milan fan cause I actually look like gattuso and play football similar to him lol)

Also wanna tell everyone interested on working out to read "Power to the People" by pavel Tsatsouline as I think that book changed my life forever for good.

I'm semi drunk now which makes my grammar sucks, but I hope u enjoy this entry which means nothing but my current situation.

Regards, as always I love lp, u guys are awsome =)

Drinking
  GoTuNk, Jan 15 2011

I was just wondering how much/often do u guys drink. I'm asking mainly cause whenever I go out and drink more than average I find myself arriving home late and having hangover which impedes me to play poker (the only productive thing I can do while on holidays). I'm also certain i'll be ridicously fit if I didn't drink much.

On the other hand, buzz is ridicously fun :D
So just wanted to know about another poker players. Also post ur age, as I think some people here are twenty something and over the "get drunk with friends" phase or w/e u call it when u drink a lot in early 20's.

[G] Starting a Business
  GoTuNk, Dec 28 2010

This text is copy pasted from my main blog, http://gambool.blogspot.com

The business plan described here is outlined the book the "4 hour work week" by Tim Ferris. I'm adding my personal experience in succesfully implementing it.

Creating a muse

A muse is an automated business that provides a passive source of income. Will it makes us rich? Probably not. Will it gives as a steady monthly cashflow with minimum management time that allows us to do other stuff? You bet.

I'm gonna describe one type of muse; the one that ships products.
The most important thing is to start with the end in mind; we have the model, then the prize range, and only then we find the product.

The model is simple; we want to sell something trough internet. Production is outsourced, and distribution aswell; we are an online retail.
Prize range is anywhere between 50-300USD. Why? Smaller prizes require us to sell too much and future competition will cut down ur margins too fast. Higher prizes make customer require to talk with someone on the phone before buying. We want to avoid that.

The math is simple; say ur sales prize is 150 USD, and you profit 80 USD per unit. Selling only 20 units a month grants you a net 1600 USD. Not bad huh?

Finally, you need the product. To find it, you need to find a niche market, and make the product for them. It's easier to satisfy a need than creating it. A usefull tought process is to think in every group that you have belonged, and stuff you could use. Brainstorm and start from there.

Your niche market must be really specific; appealing everyone is appealing no one. Making a product for cars is way too broad; on the other hand, something for Ford Ranger users is a good niche market. A smaller group will also aloud you to advertise cheaperly and easily.

Your advertising will be trough either google ads or facebook ads. Both means are ridicously inexpensive and effective as you can target your niche market and avoid wasted clicks.

For my muse I use only facebook ads; chilean males aged 20-40. Does that mean other groups don't buy from me? Not at all. I have lighter bells for woman and older people, but I believe they purchase mostly cause they know the product beforehand.

Comercializadora Kettlebells Chile Ltda.

How the idea was concieved can be seen here. After creating the website, and succesfully testing there was enough demand, I contacted a chinese manufacturer to build me 4 tons of kettlebells. Had there been no demand, I would have shut down the website, moved on, and tested the idea for only 40 bucks.

It is critically important to do real sale tests BEFORE purchasing anything. Setting up a website is effortless and inexpensive. Getting merchandise and not being able to sell them is as fun as playing a Zerg vs Terran with Flash in a 2 player map.

The process is simple; people find my website, make and order (trough credit card or checking account) and I ship the product through a third party agent. Shipping is payed by the customer when product is recieved. My job is very simple; answer emails, drop packages at the post offices and tax declarations (I go to business school so I know how to do them).

On the future I plan to have automated pickups at my door from the post office, which is zero cost but currently suspended until January; I could also hire an accountant (40 USD month) and have as only responsability answering emails. I could even outsorce that, but don't want to for the moment.

Taking each 16kg bell from china to my door costed me 29.08 USD, while my sales prize is 79.2 USD. This yield me a net profit of 50,12 USD per unit with a 172% ROI. Other bells have the exact same ROI, though margin per unit varies according to weight.

I understand this guide is very general, but the fundamentals are here and this is the first of many entries. For a list of other succesfull muses check Tim Ferris blog:

Crushing Mid stakes
  GoTuNk, Dec 24 2010

Er, Not really. After breakeven november i'm six buy ins at nl100 down this month. Seems I'm not leaving university yet. I keep running into aces preflop lately but w/e.

Nevertheless I've progressed a lot lately and got an hour of coaching from _____ which I think was really helpful, actually way more than I expected.

Business going great, we ordered a 2nd shipment of kettlebells and on a personal note I really look foward to pressing a 32kg bell.

Anyways, for January I really want to turn things around and share some of what i've learned with others (not just lp) so i'll be blogging on another site. I have 2 months of vacations and looking foward to make the most of them .

Check it out and gl.

COACHING
  GoTuNk, Dec 13 2010

So I pass all classes, business going well, and poker seems to be going well after breakeven september. Finally I have free time to play poker.

I got slightly in shape, body fat dropped from 19,5% (fat imo) to 16,5% which is kinda acceptable. Gonna go for the next push now.

So anyway, i'm looking for a good coach for 6max, I can beat nl100 SH for 1-2bb/100 apparently but I want to keep moving up and improving winrate. I will be available almost 24/7 for the next 3 month except for 1-2 2 week periods of vacations prolly.

Since there is so many coaches/deals out there, that I invite you to PM me your offers. I am interested in both multiple single hour lesson or maybe some profit sharing deals if u want to take me up with you (say, coach me from nl100 to nl400 or something like that =).

Anyone who got coached and moves up from nl100+ feel free to vouch for someone

GL all.

October spew
  GoTuNk, Oct 30 2010

First of all,

I decided I want to compete on chilean powerlifting, and i'm quite sure I can crush anyone at the 67,5kg weight class, given weights from last chilean powerlifting competition are kinda embarrassing. Btw, Powerlifting = bench press, deadlift, squat.

However, to reach the weight to compete, I need to drop 12 pounds of fat, so I started to taking nutrition REALLY seriously. No booz, no chocolate, no cookies, no bread, no soda, etc.

I took measures/pictures, so will make a nice post by the end of the deadline I self impossed (40 days, 10 days already done)

Depending on how much I can lift being 5kg lighter, i'll evaluate to pursue further progress (AKA compete in Argentinian meetings).

Poker wise,

Gonna end this month a bit earlier, first 10k hands are nl50, rest are n100

Meh, dropped like 10bi in last 5 days, guess it helps as a reality check after crushing nl50/nl100 for so many hands previous to that.

When I moved up to nl100 my redline started to drop again, instead of the horizontal one I had at nl50, guess I can improve there.

So i'll bump my question from my previous blog entry, since only Lemon replied:

The question to all of you good players,

What should I be doing along with putting the volume to increasing my skill level in order to go from nl100 to nl200, 400 and 600?
Do u spend time analizing other players hand/stats etc when u are not playing?
What things DID u specifically do to improve ur game and move up?
What's next?

Thanks for replies
