3rd Place for Rebuy Tourny
  MayZerG, Jul 15 2007

Not bad i guess , shoulda come first check-raised top pair only for him to have overpair. Thanks to XeLiN and SlowDeer who were watching.

I didnt make a thread asking for railbirds because i didnt think $1 rebuy would be important or even worth it, but them 2 railing made it hella fun!

Live $20+2 rebuy
  MayZerG, Jul 15 2007

CAUTION, THIS WILL BE A LONG READ, PLEASE COMMENT WITH YOUR THOUGHTS AFTERWARDS

Went back to my local casino (Empire Casino from last blog) to compete in the same rebuy tourny.

Tourny Stats:

Players = 54
Prize Pool = $3,000
Rebuys = 40+
Addons = 36

The very first hand a guy raised for 75 to go, and this asian girl (looked like Evelyn Ng... so fit!) reraised like 300+ more. He looked there in shock and flashed his Q-Q before folding. Great fold.

I played very tight at the start and noticed they made improvements that i was happy with, they changed the blinds to 25/25 to start with, so thats good having 40BB which is around standard i guess.

After about 17-20 hands of not catching anything decent, i got annoyed and raised UTG with K-7dd. Luckily no one called respecting me being tight and i took it down.

Now a few hands later i got 5-5. I raised MP and got 1 caller 2 seats to my right. Board comes 6-6-3 so i go all-in for the remainder 700 knowing i probably have the best hand and put him on over cards. The moron called with K-T suited, which gave him a spade flush draw and 2 overcards... he caught the K on river and i rebought.

The VERY next hand i looked down at 3-3 on the SB and called the extra 100 with 3 other limpers including BB who checked. Board come 3-6-8 and i pushed all-in for 800. And amazingly enough all 3 of them call, and i end up winning 3k from them plus my 1k i started with.

Few hands later i have J-J UTG and raise to 600, she calls and board comes A-A-5, i thought it was unlikely she had the A, she checked and i bet size of pot and she folded.

BREAK WITH 4600 CHIPS, BLINDS GOING TO 150-300

I had to move tables to see this amazing stack of 500 chips 2 seats to my right, and he had over 12k from what i could count, easily dominating the table.

I looked down at A-Q from the SB and raised it to 900. A guy in BB to my left pushed all-in for his remainder 2500+, i reluctantly showed and folded, and he showed me his 9-9. I got very annoyed with myself, i think i should have called because he may of thought i was stealing and because i just joined table, i had no idea how he played... but what do you all think?

So with 3700 i looked down at the BB with 6-3os and checked with the SB who had less than me by a small amount. Board come 1-5-4 giving me an OESD, he bet a weak amount, like half the pot and i pushed all-in and he folded.

Few hands later i got KQos and limped from SB vs the BB. Board come J-T-2, giving me another OESD. We both check with turn coming 7, both check and river coming 2. I thought about it and bet 1000 on a bluff, making it look like i checked bottom pair and got lucky. To my surprise he moved all-in and i had to fold, him showing 8-2 lmfao!

So with blinds being 200-400 and my stack of 3400 or so, i decided to make a stand 2 hands before they come round to me with A-9ss suited. The Chip leader with his monster stack, called with K-5dd suited... stupid moron. To my disgust board come K-3-9 straight away, and i couldnt catch a back door flush or my A or another 9 leaving me out in 32nd place.

LIVE TOURNY

Well today i played my first live tournament down in Central London at the Empire Casino. Max players it can hold is 81 but only 44 showed up since its not as busy on sundays.

Buyin = $20 + $2 and it was unlimited rebuy until first break. With a buyable add-on at the break. The prize pool came to $2560. I final tabled and come 9th being the shortstack, starting with around 5600 chips with blinds being 600-1200. So i won $60, not bad i guess for my first tourny and not rebuying or using an add-on, for 1k chip extra, didnt think it was worth it...

I thought the tourny structure was bad... blinds started off at 25/50 and we only had 1000 chips... 20BB.

My very first hand i raised with 78dd and hit my flush on turn, got paid because i bet on flop too. Then 2 hands after i bluffed with 24cc and showed it, they all looked pissed off.

I knocked a guy out with QQ vs AK holding up, and later on QQ vs QJ, and another guy managed a split pot sharing a A-to-10 straight.

When blinds were around 400-800, guy pushed his remainder 200 chips in pot and i obv called with 88 with no one else behind me. He showed 9-10 and spiked a 10, ohwell...

Soon after went to FT, and barely got any playable hands and was forced to push all-in with only 2 people behind me, as it was folded to me, i lost as BB called remainder 2500 chips with KJ .

ONLINE

Tonight has been a great session, up just over 5 buyins in 900+ hands. Overall i think i played great, barely no mistakes, and no pots lost over $4. There was only 1 play by me that was a spew, which was gambling with a flush draw, and actually winning with a pair of 7s

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/222159 <--- This was hilarious, limped pot, i made guy think im stealing and took Buyin from him.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/222187 <---- KK vs 2 donks.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/222188 <--- Very funny FD hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/222189 <---- AQ vs donk.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/222190 <---- Guy bluffed with nothing when i had a straight ROFL.

Thx for reading .

25 NL Heater
  MayZerG, Jun 21 2007

So today i went to 25NL as i had 10 BIs (too little, i shoulda had around $400 before i tried it).

But i followed some guidelines with Josh that i'll move up with 10 BIs and move back down if it goes below 8, when trying to move up stakes.

And OMG... i went on the sickest heater i have ever seen. Over 3 BIs in 61 hands.

Heres the database:

I done share desktop with LolGiraffe so he can look over my PT on Live Meeting, and he said almost all of them were bad beats apart from a few coinflips i done with AK preflop.

The grinder has fallen... but i will be back for another shot soon. I have $20 to work with.

Week 3 - Downswing Recovery
  MayZerG, May 14 2007

I've noticed that many people on LP, especially the micro/low stakes, had some bad runs throughout May. I was also the victim of this curse, losing 8 buyins from $190 to around $125.

I was beginning to get very frustrated, and would have probably quit poker if i didnt win my money back, cause i felt that if i couldnt overcome the run of bad beats, then i didnt have what it takes to be a good poker player, even though i put my money in ahead.

So... from losing 8 buyins, i put in a big session with my head screwed on and being very focused, i won all my money back and almost 3 buyins extra.

I'd like to thank my teacher LoLGiraffe who puts up with me, and helps go through my session notes to see if i made bad plays or i put my money in ahead, and gives suggestions to any flaws i have in my game.

Some of the hands for the week...

Week 2 - Going Good!
  MayZerG, May 07 2007

This week has been fairly good... but very frustrating to say the least. I have been going up and down like a yoyo, building a good bankroll getting a few buy-ins everyday and then losing them to a few bad beats or bad plays.

Hopefully i will stop making mistakes when i come to higher limits to prevent any downfall i may come across.

A few memorable hands...

My 1st week on LP
  MayZerG, Apr 30 2007

My 1st month playing cash games seriously, and its been a week after finally registering with LP.net and getting involved in the community and actually posting.

Quite a good week for a micro player, i decided that SitnGo's had too much variance for me to make a good profit on it after a year of playing, so i decided to focus on my cash game with starting advice and tutoring from ToTMidiaN.

Some of my good hands of the week...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/182311
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184013
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184015
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184151 <--- (VERY LUCKY) trips vs FH, i managed to suckout.

I'd like to say thanks to: nolan, lolgiraffe, hoolz, doomer, milkman, jonnycosmo, rainkhan, xelin and anyone i've missed for helping me on Ventrillo by discussing certain plays/situations when you've had the time. All advice recieved has been greatly appreciated.
