Pretty much sums up my last two months^^^. Only played like 20k hands in July because I went on a sick vacation to Alaska for about 1/3 of the month. I know when you first hear Alaska it doesn't seem like the coolest place in the world but it was unexpectedly nice. I'll try to post pics in my next post.
So for this month, I've already got in 20k hands and I'm shooting for 40k. I feel like table selection, only focusing on 4-6 tables, and controlling my tilt has been key to my success. Luckboxing tournaments for 2k helps as well lol. Bankroll is now at almost 17k and I'm probably going to move up to 2/4 next month permanently.
Gl everyone,
Tim

Dear TimDawg888,
You finished the tournament in 5th place.
A $2,106.50 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
Just finished a really swingy/long session and finished up 1 buyin. Wish I could get PokerGrapher working because this session would definetely make for a pretty funny graph. I played 1.2k hands, which doesn't seem like a lot but for only having 4-5 slow tables up it's pretty fucking long. I started out running real hot as a few fish literally threw their money at me. It was unbelievable how bad the play was.
this guy is such a lagtard, especially in rr'ed pots, so i was hoping to entice a shove by betting kinda small on the flop; i'm still 100% sure 10's are way ahead of his range on the turn and the results showed how bad he is http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/225887
This easily could have been a 3-5 buyin session if I had ran a little better but whatever.
On a side note, I finally got a coach and worked out a long term profit sharing deal with him. I don't know if he wants more students or not so I won't say who he is. We've only had 2 30 minute sessions so far but I feel as though I've already fixed a couple of really big leaks in my game.
Oh yeah just got the new T.I. CD and it's sickk. Defintetely recommend for everyoneto go out and get it. Here's a link to my favorite song on the album.
So poker has really sucked as of the last two months. June started off really well and I was up somewhere around 2k over a pretty small sample size. I had a 12k roll, was taking shots at 400NL when the games were good, and had a lot of confidence in my game. Well 400NL didn't last long.
I lost all of my profits for the month and decided to stay at 200NL for the rest of June. The bad run continued and I had 5-6 small losing sessions in a row at 200NL. So to regain my confidence, I moved down again to 100NL and planned on moving back up once I grinded my BR back up to 10k.
Well so much for that because I haven't been able to win there either. So here I am at the beginning of July with an 8k bankroll, playing 100NL, and not really having that much needed confidence in my game anymore. I really don't know what to make of it. I guess I'm probably over reacting to what is a standard bad run. On the plus side, I'm getting really close to supernova and will be bankin' again when I start to get the 1.5k bonuses. I'll also be getting a long-term coach really soon and that should help a lot as well.
Sorry for being so depressing lol, I feel like I should put something positive in as well, so.....
really didn't think this guy would take that line with a flushdraw, so i figured he had air; i was kind of right =0 http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/205338
gross spot against a standard 200NL LAGtard; i was actually going to call until he said "draw" which lead me to believe he had a strong hand http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/207120
May has been one of my worst months ever since I've been playing poker and I need to make some changes. I can't just mindlessly and effortlessly grind through every limit and expect to progress into the higher stakes. It takes hard work.
So, I'm going to start watching more CR vids, going over tricky hands with better players more often, and really making an effort to concentrate on my game more (taking more notes, lowering tables, ect.)
Played around a 1K session last night with pretty poor results. Besides one questionable call though, I really think I was playing my A game and didn't make any mistakes. I guess it's just really frustrating seeing other LPers at 200NL have so much more success. I'm happy for them but at the same time I know I'm good enough to beat this level for a good winrate. I guess I still have a relatively small sample size (15K hands) to make any assumptions.
I ended up winning another buyin, but for w/e reason my PT didn't put it in the database. So I finished the session down -550 or so.
It's been a few weeks since I last posted. Not too much has really been going on. Basketball just got over with and I'll soon be able to get in a lot more hands. Oh yeah, I actually played a pretty short session today. Finished down 1.5 buyins after losing a few spots where I got unlucky and making a bad call. Besides that, I've just been hanging out with friends and watching a lot of college basketball games. Tennessee is playing Kentucky in about 5 minutes so I'm going to go watch that.
Two days ago, I really ######### my arm in a basketball game. I went up to block a guy's shot and when I landed I used my right arm to catch myself. It twisted and made some kind of popping noise. Don't think it's broken but I'm going to get X-Rays today.
In poker, I've just started playing 200NL. Haven't been running that well, but I'm happy wih how I've played for the most part. I'll put some hands in later for people to comment on.
Been really lazy this month for whatever reason. Still pretty happy about my results though. I've almost got my BR back up to 6K, and will give 200NL another shot.
