WOW, first massive variance session
GameOverNoob, Feb 25 2008
i played a session tonight with a terrible state of mind, spwewd off 2.5 buyins HU, and was gonna quit for the night, took a breath and got back in. continued to run terribly, picking off draws and having these fish call me with bottompair open edned for 100bb stacks and kept the pressure on.
- 4.5buyins
it took 2hrs, but got everything bak. just kept the pressure on, picking off these fish and finished down 0.5 buyins :D
iv never been so happy to finish a session down.
This was also my first 2 table HU session iv ever played, i was steaming hard, but got my focus back 45 minutes in.
done for tonight, tomorrow's another day, gonna do a nice short handed session.
ciao all.
Steadyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
GameOverNoob, Feb 24 2008
I've moved from playing 4 tables to 6 on my laptop since im still waiting for my basement office to be finished.
nothing to say, making 1-2buyins/session... no real amount of variance... the games are just too easy.
I'm playing a LAG style, using ranges and im usuallly pretty accurate.
... i estimate anohter 3-6 weeks of this until i move to NL50
i might even go longer, but i don't expect much of difference in skill level.
End of week 1
GameOverNoob, Feb 19 2008
running at +8.5 buyins
~7hrs playing
no complaints, nothing glorious...
can't wait until my office is finished, should be done by next week.
I'll start multi tabling 6+ at NL25 once im set up, but until then im playing spiradic sessions for nomore that 1-2hrs on 2-4 tables.
i break luckboxes.
UB day 3+4
GameOverNoob, Feb 18 2008
FUCK CALL, DONT FOLD. JUST RAISE!
PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE
+2.5 buyins today, +4 yesterday
Running bad, playing well
GameOverNoob, Feb 17 2008
just had a 1hr, 4table session and was running pretty badly, flopping top two against bottom set and whatnot, but made some fantastic calls against the right people, and just overall playing very well. Staying loosish aggresive through my whole session and keeping the pressure on. I decided to stop and thought i was down on my session but happened to be up a buy-in!
off to work

Day 2 on UB
GameOverNoob, Feb 16 2008
Started the night off even from day one since i played a poor session yesterday(-3buyins)
Since pokertracker isn't registered on my computer yet, i don't have any stats for you today but my night went well. Played one of my fish HU NL50 and took 2 buyins from him in about 45minutes then went out for dinner.
came home and made another 2.5 buyins playing 2 tables of 6handed NL25. so far so good, not dedicating too much time to my online game but still doing decent sessions.
I have made a few bad calls that imo should be easier folds, but they dont compare to the good poker im playing. besides, the games are very easy imo. Since im still on my laptop and not set up properly im not going to be playing any serious amounts.
5-10NL live is -EV
GameOverNoob, Feb 16 2008
Went to go play 5-10NL at the caz last night, only because the waiting list on the 2-5NL was so long and there were some fish at the 5-10 table. Lost my first buy-in in on unfortunate flop, middle set to a straight against the ONE other grinder at the table.
KxQxJx. Should have been able to get away from the hand, but thats okay. RELOAD
I flop bottom set against 2 fish sitting on 5buynis+ who are throwing money around like they're playing for quarters and i run into top set :O
6dQh4d ... didn't see that one coming....
then me n my partner in crime went to some trendy new club cause his friend had an open bar set up That took our minds off the cold deck for the night.
Another day, another conquest.
puke!
Day 1 on UltimateBet
GameOverNoob, Feb 14 2008
Any opinions on this very small sample?
I'm not 100% sure what im looking to see stat wise, imo my 1hr session went well. Im just starting to get used to the UB platform, so i played only 1-2 tables.
All opinions are appreciated.
Degen Temptation is +EV
GameOverNoob, Feb 11 2008
I finally cracked and played poker I was teaching a friend the fundimentals of MTT play on FT and ended up doing really well. We decided to split 120$ on FTP and we played a 10$ bounty tourney w/ 500 players together while going over some basics in short handed cash games. We finished 6th in the tournament after playing absolute perfect poker imo :D and grinded out about 0.8 buyins on a NL100 table. We went to play another session tonight and continue working on MTT play and the starting point of multitabling penny cash games but went to find that my account had been blocked! After emailing support, my buddy still wanted to play so we decided to go to the casino to check out what was going on. He staked me one buy-in for 2-5NL and i ended up cashing out 1020 after roughly 4 hours of play. SOFTEST degen games i'v seen in a while! Now that my confidence is a little boosted and i think my training has been working i feel so tempted to keep playing while i promised myself not to until my debt was payed back! I'm going to keep working him on smallstakes cg/MTT's onlineand try to stay away from the caz although the games are so soft. All has been great, i feel im learning tons of new valuble information everyday as i keep training myself. I'm not too too far from finishing paying my debt but it'll still be another 4-5 months. Gotta stay strong, even though i know how easy these games are, i can't handle any amount of variance at the moment.
one day at atime!
My Tough Decision
GameOverNoob, Jan 29 2008
It took a few weeks to convince myself, but after all is said and done i've decided to wait until my debt is paid off before starting my poker "career". It took alot of self control to do this especially since I'm very soon receiving payment from an outstanding loan. I want to congradulate constantcolorup / statusup for his amazing performances this week in MT tournaments where he won 4 MTT's and made some great places on FT! Nice work, keep it up!
As for me, i'v got a ways to go at 10$ an hour but my mind is clear and I looking forward to what the future's going to bring!
