Bonus Whoreing
  Silver_nz, Jan 17 2008

So I finished clearing the PS goldstar FPP bonus at NL25, ended up around $550.

But instead of cashing it out I'm going to use it to go grind out the full tilt bonus and see how I like playing on that site.

I got my account setup with rakeback here through LP:

8D yes, I am a cts fanboy and I have no imagination for names etc.

after I've cleared this I might try out NL25 on a few other sites and clear a few other bonuses, just to experience software and find fishy sites.

In other news, I've been trying too hard at NL50 again. I really don't feel comfortable there yet and it takes me off my game, and I keep playing back at regulars too much -_-. I'm going to play NL25 and watch lots more cardrunners vids until i get my head straightened out.

end blog

Rewards
  Silver_nz, Jan 05 2008

So I’ve pretty much finished NL25 and have been taking regular shots at NL50:

NL50 has been giving me so trouble... there are a lot of aggressive and competent players there, I’ve been adapting, but of course, losing a bit of money as I adjust my bluffing frequencies and look people up to see what kind of plays they make when their line makes no sense

I cashed out $250 3 weeks ago to buy a Cardrunners membership and pokertracker3 when it comes out. Recently got the cheque cleared so I’m going to have a lot of fun obsessively watching poker videos soon

And I have just over 25000 in FPPs. I was going to use this to buy a monitor, but living in the land of sheep they can’t ship one out here.

My bankroll is 1600 at the moment, so heres the plan:
play NL25 for 3 more days, multitabling cap style.
release the $280 Goldstar FPP reward bonus.
Cash out everything over 1700.
Watch Cardrunners vids and improve my game vs aggressive regs and move up to NL50 permenantly.

This guy is going to help me beat NL50 ^

I’m currently unemployed over uni holidays so getting a bit of cash out of poker would be nice xD. I can reward myself for getting this far in poker my playing for a few days then cashing out the winnings. (If I don't manage to make a few hundred I might stay at NL25 a while longer)

Good luck to you dear reader.

Victory
  Silver_nz, Nov 23 2007

I have done what many find to be impossible.

A game level that is voodoo cursed by Lee Jones himself...

Even high stakes pros cower at the games confusion, swingyness and heavy rake...

I have beaten NL10 6max on Pokerstars

Having swung up and down for months, only slowly creeping up, all it took was one sick heater to push my bankroll past my goal of $750

complete NL10 stats

I still don’t feel like I really crush the stake, but I know I can win there slowly if I just keep my cool.
NL10 has been very educational, it’s really made me realize I have to play rock solidly, and that I still have a *lot* to learn.

But I’m off to NL25 finally, thanks LP for all your support!

P.S. nayr-nayr beat ya kwark

Bankroll of Satan
  Silver_nz, Nov 16 2007

After I ended my session today this was my bankroll. no adjustments were made!

Hoping I'm not jinxed by Satan again. last time bankroll got this high I went on a small (25 buy-in) downswing.

...

May the Devil be with you.

Orgasmic!
  Silver_nz, Oct 13 2007

Poker is so easy

...when you are on a heater.

I just watched vvvQ's(mez) 200NL vid, good stuff :D

Then I played a session. I think its because I learned the "most powerful move in NLtexas hold'em" from mez's vid that I was able to sustain this winrate:

Here's my overall run at NL10:

yeah, I don't care about rake, I'm aiming to improve my play not make money at this stage. money is just the score card.

I want to be able to maintain at least 5BB/100 over a good 20k sample before I move up

I think I have fixed alot of leaks for 100BB deep 6 max since my 25buy-in downswing.
-I've been coaching kwark at 1c2c, giving him advice and sweating him in sessions, which has forced me to play more solidly, giving good reasons for my moves.
-Also got to analyzing hands I think are tricky, putting people on reasonable ranges for their bets.
-And grave digging LP for old advice mostly of thor and nazgul, and looking up old LP vids.

ALSO: been testing out screen capture software to make movies! here's my first attempt, me and a mate try to play fatal fury on mame.
watch for the hot sex attack:

heres to hoping I'm able to beat NL10 now!~

25 buy-in downswing!
  Silver_nz, Sep 02 2007

Beat that!

I did have $666 at one point but now $400

I'm sure Lee likes me for generating all that rake though.

I'm going to quit playing poker for a week, just going to look over my hands and try to find leaks in PT.

Halfway Check
  Silver_nz, Aug 24 2007

So BR is up to about $550, going to move up to NL25 at $750 here’s some stats

So clearly I am having some trouble adapting to the short stacked 100BB games, after being used to 250BB at 1c/2c

Also I’ve been running better at nitring than in 6 max -_-
In fullring I play like a robot, but in 6max I try to adapt to player tendencies.
I think I’ve been overadapting and changing my game too far away from standard... I keep seeing people floating me and then restealing a lot. And then I see them playing back at me all the time and I go super aggressive with any draw and tilllllllllllt 8D.
like this:
attempt to bring the noise

Another thing I think will help is Poker Ace HUD. I’m currently using gametime+ cause its free, but its not very useful as I really need stats like aggression frequencies and folds to c-bet.

Also, poker tracker is showing a loss for suited connector type hands, so I must be spewing too much there... I think just have to play tighter overall for the 100bb to get my winrate back up.

right, I'm off to play table tennis! :D

The Legacy of Thor
  Silver_nz, Aug 18 2007

In my constant quest to improve my poker game I’ve been gravedigging, going through ancient threads to find golden posts. I discovered thorladens advice. Such beautifully deep hand analysis, he is one of the few who seems to enjoy discussing the game.
