I've been taking shots at NL400, but my last one ended poorly - my double barrel semibluffs ended up bricking on the river, and I constantly was running into my opponents upper hand ranges. I ended the session -2.3k, which isn't bad as it's only 6 buyins.

I'm going to cash out some and continue playing on NL200. After that NL4 debacle, I took a day off from poker (been playing Need for Speed: Carbon on the XBox360, pretty fun). Also, I hit the driving range to start my golf learnings...I couldn't get any lift / direction / consistency with my shots so I definitely have a lot to learn. My uncle thinks I should love it, but we'll see.

I just played a short NL200 HU session "just to get back into things", and it ended up being a pretty crazy session (my HU always seems to..)

Finally over it.

My graph for this laptop is pretty sick, but hopefully this will be the start of a new run to the stars. I'm battling hard at NL200, and running nicely, so hopefully this continues!

Yay, PokerEV is back!
  exalted, Jul 12 2007

Shot at 2007-07-12

I can finally show that my -20bi run at NL200 earlier was not due to atrocious play!

I'll continue to fiddle with this program - I absolutely love anything that can scientifically prove my unluckiness

Basically, I was -2600 below expectation (13bi), so that can account for a good chunk of losins'

I'm back at 6k and will continue to fight the good fight at nl200, wish me luck and the same to you all~~

Poor Wobbly_au
  exalted, Jul 03 2007

After seeing him cry about his downswing of 'epic purportions', I just logged on Stars to see who was around, and saw him sitting alone at a NL50 table!

This image sums up the experience:

Karma zapped me in the ass though, with the following hand...

Grr.

Heads up is aaawesome.
  exalted, Jun 30 2007

I just played a few hands of heads up and was able to have a nice little winning session:

I made a bluff against the wrong type of player:

but I got him in the end:

Picking Up Again
  exalted, Jun 11 2007

I moved back down to NL100, and have been making slow steady wins - now my BR is 3.5k and I'll start fighting again at NL200 when my rakeback for last month kicks in. I'm still expectantly waiting for the public release of PokerEV, so I can see how much of that downswing was bad luck / bad play..

I want to make a video, probably 4tabling with commentary to hopefully get criticism from the ballers here and also to help the lower stakes players. Comment if you have interest in this!

That's it for now - you all can check my photo album, which has pictures of me in Taiwan:

The Cooler Side of June
  exalted, Jun 02 2007

I'm in Taiwan, and it is getting blazing hot! Thankfully, there is nice air conditioning in my dorm so everything is still pretty cool.

Played some more today, 800 hands, -5BI dropping a nice K. Now that I'm at 3.6k I'm going to have to rebuild at NL100...

Just a shitload of coolers, lost a crucial 90/10, won nothing.

So fucking frustrating...

Back to the Grind
  exalted, Jun 01 2007

I recently lost a ton at 1/2, but will be putting in a session today, hopefully I run nicely to start off the month of June. If not, I'll be forced to move down and retackle NL100.

Either way is okay, I just hope that I play well and don't make any foolish donkoffs!

No more:
- bluffing into shortstacks when they are "pot-commited"
- big pot, big hand, small pot, small hand!

First Entry
  exalted, May 29 2007

I always like reading other LPers blogs, but never thought of making one myself. Today I had a horrific session, and wanted to create one to perhaps ease my dulled frustration.

Today was -2021, -10BI at NL200. Basically, I wiped out my entire earnings for the month (although I didn't play that many hands), and I wanted to post my hands for comments and to get them out of my brain.

I can categorize my losses into 3 major categories: beats, brags (getting it in badly) and variance (failed bluffs). I'll start off with the beats ;o

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202565 (65/35 )
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202567 (80/20)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202568 (66/33)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202569 (86/13)

More importantly, are the times where I got in badly: These are hands where I could be flamed for my play and would welcome any comments:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202573
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202576
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202577

Last but not least are the failed bluffs, which cost me a lot and were snap called so lamely:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202583
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202584
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202585
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202586
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/202587

I would love to have an EV graph, but the software beta ends today, which sucks really really bad.

There were a couple of coolers as well, like this:
