Portrait monitor setup & mouse pointer by the cleaner, May 13

So I set up my two monitors (dell 27") in portrait mode. doesn't looks as nice, but is much more comfortable to multitable, since i can tile 16 table comfortably and don't have to move the head so much from side to side.
Beside that i had problem loosing the small mouse pointer during play. i downloaded an awesome programm called bigmouse. it's just a very small programm that runs directly (no need for instalation) and attaches a giant red mouse cursor to the original cursor. For some reason you can't see it on the screenshoot, however the original cursor is still located at the tip of the giant red pointer so i maintain the precision while clicking.

I'm also feeling really good, cause i ran really hot today booking 16bis.

Good Luck everybody hope you guys run as good as me today at the tables.

RPM poker. i cant win by JSquids, May 13

im not really intending this to be a whine post at all... but i really cant figure out why i cant beat this site....when i was on stars i was crushing 50nl and i could marginally beat 100nl...

so long story short i put in 250 on RPM poker to play 25nl and just grind it up with my deposit bonus and 35% rakeback i thought id be rolled for 50nl in no time... boy was i fuckin' wrong.

i played about 5K hands in 2 days and im simply getting beat. seems like i cant stack anyone nor win many hands. iv tryed tightening up a bit and i tryed to fold more and play a more carefull conservitive style game but nothing seems to work. im playing 6 max and 5 of the 6 that i sit with at 6 tables are regs that i have 1K hands on already (thats alot considering i only have 5k hands) i know its a tiny hand sample but i think that this clearly has something to do with the US ban... iom a US plyer thats why i went to this site, and also 4 of the 6 players im at a table with ARE US players.

now is there a connection with the skill level and amount of regs with the poker ban??? am i just simply playing other 25 and 50nl regs that did the same exact thing as me? go and run to a small poker site???

I dont know, im annoyed i have a few houndred in prop bets with freinds and i dont think im going to be able to win lol.

just had to vent a little bit. feeling super frustrated with this broken ankle, been laid up in bed for 2 weeks now, spend about 10 days in the hospital after it happened, and im getting tight....

thx for reading c u on the felt.

Business Part 2 by Jas0n, May 12

Finished my last final yesterday, graduating this Sunday. Feels awesome to be done with school, although I'm going to miss a lot about the college life. Finally have some time so I figured I'd write the next installment of my business story.

This is a continuation from my last blog post about how I got into e-commerce. If you didn't read my last blog, I basically sold coupons on eBay, made some decent money, then my account became suspended. I'll pick up where I left off.

----------------------

When I received the suspension, my account had almost 16k feedback and was worth $1k - $5k on the internet black market (yes, it exists). However, the value of my account doesn't even compare to the fact that there was still so much money to be made from the coupons and I was basically excluded from the market. I purchased AuctionStealth and joined AskPin to learn how to make a new account on eBay after being suspended. eBay actually has some very impressive multi-account detection methods. For example, if you open an email sent by eBay, there is always a hidden picture somewhere in the email that your email client has to download off the eBay servers. By doing this, eBay is able to track which IP address you are downloading the picture from and essentially they will know which IP address you are using to read the email. So if I opened an eBay email sent to my new account while using the same IP as my suspended account, eBay will know that both accounts are under the same IP address and that I created a new account. So to get around this I created a completely new identity. New bank account, new PayPal account, new credit cards, new address, new IP, new name, the works. It worked for about a month and then my new account became suspended again, I have no idea how they figured me out. I made a third account but this time I was suspended in less than two weeks. I was pretty devastated at this point.

http://i54.tinypic.com/14w3gv9.jpg

Nothing happens for a couple months. I'm making some money here and there with blackhat methods, but nothing concrete and nothing that gave returns nearly as high as my coupons did. September rolled around and with midterms looming in the upcoming weeks I was focusing more and more on my studies. As the first semester of my junior year came to an end, edzwoo made a decision that completely changed his life and mine. He bought a $1 Airsoft gun (cue dramatic music). Even though edzwoo had been much more involved with poker than he was with e-commerce, there were still a few wholesalers that he had accounts with. One of them sold really cheap Airsoft guns. We had talked about getting some Airsoft guns for fun and since they were only a dollar each, there really wasn't a reason not to get them. So edzwoo spends something like $5 on two Airsoft guns, when they arrived we could tell that these guns were complete crap. They weighed as much as a plastic fork and were so inaccurate that you'd have a better chance of hitting the target if you just threw the BB pellet instead of shooting it. Regardless, we set up some coke cans in the living room to shoot. Our third roommate joined in and surprisingly, we had a LOOOOOT of fun shooting random things in the apartment. Right away, I decide that I have to get my own Airsoft gun (and of course show Ed up by buying something that's a million times more awesome than his guns).

http://i51.tinypic.com/2mhbn6t.jpg
actual gun I bought
+ Show Spoiler +

After doing some research I decided to go with the UHC M1911, which is an amazing pistol and for anyone that was interested in purchasing an Airsoft gun for the first time, this is the one I would recommend. The gun is nice and heavy, extremely accurate and a 1:1 scale replica of the M1911. For about a month, everytime my roommates and I were in the kitchen heating up food, while we waited we would just pick up a gun and shoot some cans. Our floor was covered with BBs and we had to tape cardboard over the drywall because everytime we missed and hit the wall instead, the BB would leave a nasty little dent. We had a dartboard target with an adhesive covering on the front that would stick to the BB and keep it in place after each shot. This way you can tell where your shots land and we became increasingly better at sniping the bulls-eye with my pistol. We were having a lot of fun with my gun. Little did I know that buying the pistol would be the most +ev decision I had ever made in my business life.

http://i56.tinypic.com/353avjt.jpg

November rolled around and edzwoo was talking about how it'd be pretty cool if we sold Airsoft guns on eBay. We threw around a few ideas but I wasn't very interested at the time. Shortly after Thanksgiving, edzwoo and I were walking on the quad when talk about selling the Arisoft guns came up again. Again, edzwoo talked about how we should try and enter the Airsoft market. We had done some research by this time so our discussion was a little more organized than back when we were just tossing ideas around. I definitely thought Airsoft was a good product to sell, but I had a lot of concerns about partnering with edzwoo. However, we've been friends for close to seven years by then and if I was going to go into business with anyone it would probably be him.

I didn't intend to stop writing here but I'm really tired and need to get some sleep. I'll try and finish this up next week.

What do you do when you don't know how to play by ManofFire, May 12

a hand in a tournament?

Holy shit, this has never happened to me before in my over 1/2 million hands in poker:
Anyways I had a wrap in plo and some guy shoved all in with 4 people waiting to act after the shove (was in position.)

I called out of frustration with the logic being you can't win if you always fold, and if the other players fold (lol fuck me this is omaha) the dead money will be worth it.
Turns out 1 other person called with the same exact hand as I do and I have 20% equity for a tie. I don't cash even though I was 3 away from it and I'm just sitting there thinking I'm the biggest retard in the world.

Was wondering how you guys deal with being retards, or do you just fold when you get into uncomfortable spots w/e.?

USA Players - Hero Poker by NeillyJQ, May 12

Hey guys, I've been playin around on Hero Poker and Black Chip Poker (Both on the same Network) and the games are very good. The software is good and I hear we may be having some great updates in the near future. (crosses fingers)

Be smart with your funds in the beginning, although everything seems safe 27 days after the DOJ owned us Americans.

Deposit your base bankroll for your limit - every $400-$1k+ you win cash out, keeping the same br online. This way if something were to possibly happen, atleast your profits will be coming to you.

It is still legal to play poker online, just not the depositing etc.

Playing over 12 tables can be very tilting on the software (while making one decision, another hand may fold/check unintentionally because no auto-timebank), I reccomend 1-12 tabling for anyone that plays 1-24 tables on the regular.

Thanks David,
Ryan

It's just pennies, but this is just fucking bullshit. I should not lose almost every fucking game. I can actually win pots in cash games, but any SnG or MTT? Fuck no, it's the law I should only fucking lose. I'm so fucking close to calling it quits.

Cash Games or SnG ? by tutz_x, May 10

Hey guys,
I'm back to poker but I haven't decided what kind of games should I grind.
Back when I played I was mainly a MTT player who also grinded 50/100 NL, but now I don't have the long strechs of time avaliable to play MTT's anymore, so its either SnG's ou Cash games.
Never played HU games.
I want to make money!

Looking for tips and advices.

Trip report: Liquid Snow 2011 by Defrag, May 09

I guess its about time I write a blog entry at liquidpoker.net

It would be nice to start with basic info: who am I? I guess a lot of people will just recognize my name from the forum, especially Im way more active lately at lp.net, but still

Im an ex high stakes player ( I guess I could write a little detailed story in the next blog posts ) that risen from 50$ no deposit bonus to nl1000 in 1,5 year, and then dropped poker completely.
That brings us to the second part: I've been working for lp.net for quite some time already ( over 3,5 years ), first being a newsposter on tlpoker.pl, then running the site in general.
From March I am officially working as a manager for liquidpoker.net I hope the site will feel more active with every month, and we will be able to provide you guys with more and more quality material.

But back to blog! Ladies and Gentleman, today I present you: LiquidSnow 2011 trip report!

Under this secret code-name is nothing more then an awesome trip, where part of the liquidpoker.net staff was invited. We decided to meet-up in French Alps for skiing to get along together, and actually know who you are working with

Our house was located in the city Les Menuires, in the area of Les 3 Valles ( 3 Valleys ), which is the biggest skiing/snowboarding resort in the world.
There was quite a few people expected to come, so we rented a 14 person house with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms over 3 floors ( plus sauna, giant kitchen and some other cool stuff ). In the end it was only 4 of us, and since the house was prepaid, we didn't change the location. Lets be honest, there was no way to whine about the conditions of stay, it was just way too good

Who attended ( I will use nicknames instead of names later on, so you can recognize us easier later on the forum ):
Liquid`Meat ( Joy )
Raidern ( Antoniel )
Pindarots ( Jeroen )
me/Defrag ( Sebastian )

Few photos from the mentioned house:
http://www.chaletsnowdon.com/wp-conte...Chalet-snowdon/img/slider-outside.jpg

Raidern arrived in Europe way earlier ( he's from Brasil ), and traveled to France together with Meat and Pindarots, since they both are from Netherlands. They picked me up on the way to Les Menuires from Lyon airport and lp.net team was complete . After quite a smooth ride we arrived at our place a little after 18:00 on Saturday, done some shopping, ate something, unpacked and done formal stuff ( got ski-passes, paid for house etc. ) and then we hit the beds being so tired ( especially Meat and Pindarots, who were driving for whole day ).

I'm not gonna describe every day in detail since our schedule looked pretty familiar:
~8:00 get up/ eat
~8:45 pack up, hit the slopes :D
~16-17:30 get back to home, hit sauna, eat something, play some games together , get some drinks etc and hit the bed

For first three days it was quite cloudy and the snow was raining pretty heavily, so it was quite hard to ride, especially after 15:00 since there was a lot of moguls and the visibility was sometimes worse then 3 meters ( which forced us few times to ski right next to the poles showing end of slopes ).

Skiing was going quite well for the first two days: Raidern took some lessons on the first or second day, since he never skied before in his life ( he never actually saw real snow in his life before ;D ), Pindarots skis really well, Meat snowboards very good as well, and Im not gonna judge my own skill, thou I was expecting it to be way worse after a 3 year break due to torn Menicus and ACL's on my left knee which resulted in 3 surgeries in the last 2 years :D

http://www.tlpoker.pl/staff/Defrag/LiquidSnow2011/P1030763.JPG
http://www.tlpoker.pl/staff/Defrag/LiquidSnow2011/P1030758.JPG

Unfortunately, Pindarots had a really nasty accident on the third day I think: in the begging of the day ( we were hitting the slopes as early as they opened,so they were really icy ) he crashed, looked really badly, we took quite a short break, then he skied down ( from the top, so like a 20-30 minute of skiing ) and took a break for the rest of the day. Why did I point out that he still went down? Because when he later visited the doctor it turned out that his whole muscle was torn! Talk about high pain tolerance. Really unlucky, since he was grounded for the rest of the trip.

For the second part of the trip we had pretty much perfect weather condition ( almost zero snowing during ski time and perfect visibility with really nice sun ), and we moved to the better area of Les 3 Valles as well, which was Val Thorens. Val Thorens is just 10 minutes away by car from Les Menuires, we had ski passes for the whole area so we didn't have to pay extra, and the made conditions were sooooooooo much better. In the end, we stayed there till the end of our trip

We were also switching sun screens like crazy, going from 10 to 20, then to 30 or even higher, and still getting faces burned pretty badly. Just look at the photo:

http://www.tlpoker.pl/staff/Defrag/LiquidSnow2011/P4016319.JPG
( left to right: Liquid`Meat, Pindarots, Defrag, Raidern )

Second photo, where it shows better how badly my face was burned in the spoiler tag:
+ Show Spoiler +

My very own first crash came on the third day, in familiar fashion to Pindarots, where I started to carve and one of the skis slid down on ice before catching the edge. I fell right on my chest and face, leaning my head backwards, which made my chest absorb majority of impact before hitting the ice with my chin. Feeling of not being able to breath for at least 15-20s wasn't the best, but I think its way better then broke nose. In the end, I was quite lucky.

http://www.tlpoker.pl/staff/Defrag/LiquidSnow2011/P1030774.JPG

Raidern was hitting easier slopes for majority of time, Pindarots had to stay at home due to his accident, so me and Meat tried to hit as many slopes and glaciers as possible. It was fun, but during the week we were there I doubt we managed to visit even half of the available slopes. Maybe we can try out the rest next year

Food at slopes was JESUS_CHRIST_SO_EXPENSIVE ( quite good thou ), and for evening we split the trip eating half time out/half time we made something ourselves. I can only give out one major advice: never eat in Mexican restaurant in this area. Only one of us had decent meal there, and let say rest of us thought food was quite... bad :D Some vodka with whiskey back in the house doused the bad taste thou!

During last day we also ordered some Raclette for evening from the house owner, I must admit I ordered a set for my own home few days ago. It was damn delicious.

We also had some fun when going back. I had flight back to Warsaw from Lyon around 13:00, we left around 9:00 ( it was a ~2:30h drive ) with plenty of spare time, and when going still in the mountains we smelled burning rubber... since we were passing some small town we just thought it wasnt our car, but after it continued we decided to stop. It turned out we had some problems with breaks in the car ( quite dangerous in the mountains, huh? ), Meat actually knows how to deal with his car so after taking off the tire and few fast calls we were back on track! We made it right on scheduled time to the airport, however my plane was delayed for over 1:30h.
And I must say, this was only once in my life when I was scared during the flight, lol. I fly quite a lot, and I find it really comfortable, there is not much difference between a bus and plane for me when it comes to worrying about crashes. However, the plane was delayed a ton ( never saw that happen on non-cheap airlines ), they changed the crew right when we were boarding, and when I sat down, a middle-aged guy in suit sits right next to me, pulls out a leather case and starts chewing his finger nails while reading a manual entitled "How to react in cases of plane failure". Him having a official airlines logo on the bag didint help either. When taking off plane was bumpy as hell, I was scared as f%*@. But hey, at least it was fun.

What about the LiquidPoker crew? Seriously, I cant say a bad word about anyone present ( shame on people that didint attend thou! ) even if I wanted. It was an awesome trip, and I hope there will be a repeat of this next year, hopefully with more people attending.
