you have to find what is really valuable and exciting for you in life. But when the system is built to make you fearful, competitive, dependent, ignorant and closed-minded, you really have no choice but to follow the path that leads you to the cage of slavery rather than making your own through the constant seeking of truth.

What an incredibly dishonest study. Labeling the participants as sheeple has negative undertones meaning they follow blindly and are lacking intelligence. This is completely untrue.

All this study shows is that human nature will follow groups that appear informed when the person in question is ill informed or unsure. For example, one study showed that if one person gets into an elevator and proceeds to turn around to face the door, if 2+ other riders turn the opposite way to stare at the wall, the person turns around with them as they feel they may be uninformed about this particular elevator. Of all the participants, there was a very high percentage that turned around to face the wall that was not a door. The participants are not stupid, they feel the group has a piece of information they do not have.

Either way, I find it very amusing that scientists have come to the conclusion to make such a study. They realise that people are sheeple so they were like "let's prove people are retards lol" :D. Yeah, the experiment isn't the most amazing and thorough and may be interpreted in many ways but the final conclusion is correct to a large extent. People just want to follow without much thought cause it's just natural to go with the flow. The flow might be a good thing in a good society but it's a very exploitable thing. You just get a hold of the flow and stir it in your direction and you will have control of the masses. Our current times are proving it. Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer, extermination of middle class. That's the flow, like it or not.

I think the conclusions you headline are slightly different from what can actually be inferred from the study. Yes, 50% of people are stupider than average. Yes, following is a more common trait than leading. No, that does not make people "sheeple".
