Hey so i've recently been playing SnG's and I much prefer them to cash games. I've been playing mainly the 45 man $1 ones, as I enjoy those.

I haven't played poker for 3 years but I deposited about £50 ($70~) a few days ago on stars, just to see if I actually enjoy playing poker or not still. I tried fullring NL2 and didn't really enjoy it as much as SnG's.

I've played 81 of these 45 man and cashed in 13 (1st place - 3, 2nd place - 2, 3rd - 2, rest up to 7th), however that puts me at about breakeven. Are these even profitable? I only played these instead of the 2.50 180 ones because I don't think im rolled for those (guessing i'd need 100 buyins at least? I could deposit more to get me started playing those). But those are the ones i'd much prefer, or even the 90 man ones but I think those are turbos and I don't really know how to play them.

I also purchased HM2 today (small stakes version at discount was $25), so fiddling around with that, hopefully will make my game a bit better.

If anyone else plays microstakes SNGs/MTTs and wanna talk about hands/discuss poker shit, I just got skype. name is = m.chadders so feel free to add me. I'm not part of any coaching sites or anything but have a few boks like HoH and poker theory and of course LP.

I'll try and put some more volume into the $1 sng's and see if I can actually beat those longterm for the moment.

Don't think you should play the $1 ones... (assuming you're a winning player) just deposit and grind the $3 ones

try playing the super turbo hu 2/4$ ones. I started playing them and I find there's a lot of fish who will go all in with any two cards a lot of the time so if you can stick through the variance its not a bad way to build your roll.

Well this is my all time graph for SnG's, its a very small sample size so I don't know if im winning player or not yet.

The bink at the start was coming 3rd in a 4.50 180 man one, this was like 5 years ago though, i've only just started playing again (5 days ago, played 81 sng's since).

I think I'll stick to the 45 man ones until I know I am a winning player over 1000+ games? Then I'll move up.

I'm also going to grab a free trial to DeucesCracked (7-Days), hopefully open my eyes a little bit.

@Fujikura do you mean the $3.50 turbo 45-mans? I'm not really all too familiar with turbos, are they that different to the standard ones?

@aCa_ I hardly ever play HU, I know the very basics, but i'll take a look anyway

playing turbos is much better imo hourly $ wise. you should definitely try the $1.5 turbos, and move up when you have 150-200 bucks. Making 1000 games sample on the lowest stakes doesn't make much sense because the games one step higher aren't tougher at all from what I remember

Hmm ok I will try the turbos, see how different they are.

Also I'm not against playing STT's, i just prefer MTTs... however I actually really love the push/folding aspect and bubble play which im sure happens a lot more in those STT's, will have to give those a try too.

so yeah add me on skype!
