Recommend good basic books for stock trading

"Getting started in value investing" by Charles S. Mizrahi was relatively easy to read and captures some of the core concepts of the more classic books such as the intelligent investor.

Recently started looking into watches... nice choice =)

yeah planet oceans are a classic. was always a rubber strap kinda guy. i loved my old tag heuer carrera then it got stolen and had no money to buy a replacement for it till now. the 45mm ones of omega look really good.

Are any of those books cool if you want to play around and learn how to abuse the AH in D3 ???

First thing you need to do is figure out what your objectives are with trading. Figure out how much time are you willing to commit and how long you're going to hold positions.

Also to clear up a common misconception, trading =/= investing. The purpose of an investment is to move money from the present to the future at an acceptable %rate of return. Trading takes advantage of shorter term price inefficiencies that can occur due to supply/demand imbalances.

Although I don't think you can learn how to trade through a book, you can gain some inspiration and expand your knowledge by reading:
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator (fictitious trading story but based on a real person)
Market Wizards (Interviews)
One good trade Inside the highly competitive world of proprietary trading (if you want to learn more about the prop world)
Trading and Exchanges - Larry Harris (This book is highly academic but its the only book that explains market micro-structure and was written by a former Chief Economist of the SEC. Basically everything you need to know about how markets function, who trades, why they trade, how they trade)

my go-to watch is an omega seamaster aqua terra. beautiful watch and i'm about to buy an omega speedmaster.

for stocks...my favorite forum is stockmarketcats.com. I've made about 30% off my stock investments this year just from this forum (then again low plays on BP/RIG were no brainers ).

I'll just go with a wndows 8 tablet if ever one comes out. both apple and android completely fall short with what i need right now and windows 7 mobile is somewhat what i want but battery life and interface is meh atm.
