So you flop the nuts against overpairs in heads up. Why is this special? |

its all relative and villain dependant obviously, but its funny how LP jumps on the hatetrain and just mimic comments when some1 decently respected says something, and then when some1 else says something else ppl jumps on that train instead
i still think its retarded for a microplayer that dont have much of a developed pokerbrain to start calling big 3bets 50bb deep with T9o, even if that feels like 1 million bb's for a SNG dude |

you are only allowed to say that when you see him making postflop mistakes after the pf call, and he didnt in that hand |

@ Player999
care to explain ?
Its 50bb deep, relativly early in the game villian is an unknown and 3 bets pf
So unless we have history we assume his range is pretty strong and we dont have too much fold equity on many flops
furthermore even if we hit villian has in many cases a range that has a ton of outs vs our "nutz"
Why is calling with T9 good then ?
Isnt it much better to fold or in case we know he opens wide small 4 bet as a bluff and have semi decent equity when getting called ?
I am just a newb but id be glad if u explain
|
|
U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz) | |

idk why you would assume its "pretty strong", and even if it is, random fish consider A2o or 55 to be "pretty strong hands to 3bet" and they will have the hardest time playing those oop
the worst your opponent is (and better you are) postflop, the wider you can call, so I call muuuch much worse than T9o there, and I consider T9o to be the ultimate unfoldable nuts in that spot, it plays well against his range and isnt dominated at all because fish dont 3bet JTs/Q9s/KTo etc |

why would he be a fish?
we are discussing a fairly unexperienced microstakes reg (OP) trying out sngs without what i would assume to much history playing it/any poker at all based on his posts + that he thought villain played his hand terribly "4 betting K4s vs him"
VS
a random villain at first stages of a SNG 50bb deep
niggah pliz dont scew it, i would probably not fold T9o either in a 30$ sng vs a random microguy that i assume is 10x worse of a player then myself, but that is not the case in this situation |

its a $30 sng, the best regs are borderline fishes
also lack of experience is a reason to call even more, to get yourself in tough spots, and learn
and even against regs T9o is a very good hand to call, the better regs tend to polarize their 3bets as in J2s/T5s/etc-AJ+/99+, also we have position... if you cant call T9 at pretty much the deepest you'll get (start at 75bb), you are saying you cant call 3bets ever
only time I'm not calling is against someone I know is very good and 3bets the non-polarized range that dominates us, and can also play well postflop
some good regs call T9o to a 3bet on HYPER TURBOS, at 25bb deep (I dont like that, but ppl do it and seem to work for them) |
