I don't know shit about poker.
I don't even know what I don't know.
The only thing I have going for me is that I am aware of my absolute lack of knowledge.

This is my start from rock bottom. All I have done so far is depositing $20 on pokerstars, and played about 1500 micro-stake hands. Mainly zoom hands. I don't know about tournaments, standard poker abbreviations, or smart play. For the first day, I thought 'Villain' was an actual player that had accounts everywhere and was everyone's arch-nemesis.

I am following the guidelines for the beginners intro here on Liquid Poker. Results so far are a very slight loss. That is not due to the guide, but my own play. I downloaded the trial for Pokertracker. And lo and behold, I'm a freakin fish, throwing my money in as soon as I see a picture card

Apparently, KQs and KQo are really poorly performing hands that just look so good.. and pocket pairs still havent payed off.

Looked good for a while!

SO...

After this introduction, I hope you guys will help me when I post silly questions and post noob plays in the hands section. Also, what is the one thing you wish you had done differently when you first started playing?

Thanks!

lol that was a good intro.
your smaple size is probably too small to say if you are w winner or loser overall. pretty good to break even with knowing nothing though.
Post some of the hands where you had KQ in the low stakes hand discussions?
And maybe a screenshot of your 'position' tab so we can tell you some stuff overall.

lol, thats awesome.

IMO the most important thing to learn at the micros is to maximise you winnings with your good hands and minimise your losses with your bad ones. If youve got 3 of a kind you want all the money in the middle by the end of the hand, if you have pocket 5s and the flop comes AJ9 dont run a big bluff.
Then again I still know nothing too

so you got dealt KQs 5 times and you wanna conclude something from the results?

analyze again when you get dealt KQs 500 times

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol

Welcome.

Don't forget to follow the weekly MMA threads in the General forum.

Watching MMA is a good way to relieve stress, you get to see someone else getting owned for a change.

Thanks for suggesting that - i know position is important, but I don't know how to use it to my advantage. And I dont know what to look for exactly on the position table. Any comments appreciated!

'Position' tab, at about 2000 hands played:

Looking at those stats tells me you limp too much and play way to many hands from the sb, as a general advice try to raise when you enter a pot instead of limping and iso more IP.

how can u shove the river, he cant possibly call with worse -TalentedTom

Thanks Jeff,

I limp when i get a pair to see the flop as cheap as possible. I limp on the button a lot (too much) if nobody else has called yet. . any premium hand I generally raise.

I will try to fold my SB more. calling all the small pairs as cheap as possible is still the right thing to do, right? or should I raise a 66 ?

It feels like Zoom can be abused in terms of stealing the blinds, because noone can verify if you are doing it everytime or not.. But how to best play from the small blind is still totally unknown to me.
