Having never stayed at vegas before, how do these "room comps" and stuff work? I'm likely going to spend a week there next week or so and hear you can get discounts from your room for playing in their casino, sort of like a VPP system. I'll just be playing NL200 and maybe NL500 depending on success. If the comps dont really cater to low stakes players than am I better off just finding whatever I can afford and commuting to the casino?
FYI - I really want to stay at the Aria, or any comparable hotel like the Bellagio next door. Otherwise I just plan to stay at the Luxor which is like 5 blocks down and 1/3 the price.

I know that ARIA pays 2$ an hour in comps for playing poker. And early in the morning it's 3$/hr so they can keep the games going. When I go on June22 that is primarily where I will be playing. |

Holy shit just found out Treasure Island offers 10$/hr in rakeback up to 599/week. In addition to that you get 2/hr in comps... and of course whatever you win in the games! Can't beat that! That is amazing.. |

Of course you only get the full 10$/hr if you play the 60 hour max.. otherwise the rate is less. |

treasure island only gets off 1 or 2 games (none higher than 1-3NL) and it's a 4-5 table poker room. And the rake is bad. They drop $4 and an additional $2 to pay for the promotion. And they drop on raise+3b even if no flop. But they do have a starbuck's next door that takes comps! lol |

lol I figured there had to be a catch. In the old two plus two thread I read it said the rake was 3+2 for pots under 100$ and 4+2 for pots over 100. And people were saying that the room was super full and the busiest it has been in years... but I guess that isn't saying much if it is only a 4-5 table room haha.
Still though... that is a pretty damn good deal. If the games are decent at least. |
