Landed in vegas a few hours ago, checked in to my room and went straight for the tables. Having never played in a casino, those drinks the waitresses keep bringing by are completely free right? And people just tip them like $1 or so for every one? Most important, will they make you any drink you want for free? I mean can I order some nice vodka beverages and it's all on the house?

Anyway had a good first run. Bought in for $200 at a 1/3 game and cashed out $540. I nitted it up to start, but couldnt help but attempt to isolate and target a few players with no joy. I just dont know enough about that stuff, and bleed off a good 30BB's before I recognize it just isnt working. I seem to do alright stealing blinds, but I just cant quite understand how to properly iso/squeeze and what to do on certain flop textures. I keep trying to balance my range even though I know it's pointless because nobody cares, I just cant help myself, it feels like the right thing to do.

Apparently people are allowed to use cash for chips on the table. I turned a flush and missed a shit ton of value vs 2 pair because this guy had $100 bills under his stack and I just wasnt looking at that. I looked at his chips and thought I put him allin by sliding a stack out, only to realize there was a good $300 behind that I missed in value.

Other than that, the casino is great, the Aria is ridiculous, and I feel right at home in the live setting no different than playing in my home town.

I bet you're very shy... I don't know if you just came up with all of these questions but for example, about drinks, you can always show some confidence and ask the waitress directly

And about the cash games I don't see how you could possibly think people like to have $100s landing on the table without being in play

If you're in doubt, just ask! You're not going to be the first nor the last one to do that, and the waitresses are usually pretty kind and polite (they have to otherwise no tips)

have fun!

the limiting factor for ordering drinks to the table tends to be the time it takes to make them, not the quality of the drink afaik. so you are fine ordering reasonably nice alcohol on the rocks or some top shelf alcohol as part of a simple mixed drink but people tend not to order complicated drinks to have brought to the table. at worst you can always just ask tho. and yes its free. on the off chance you order something thats not [champagne may not be at some places though a glass at aria is] they'll probably tell you before they get it anyways. should pretty much always tip a dollar. if you do order something complicated or whatever maybe a bit more

I agree with Neilly. But you could easily move to a 1/2 or start there and nit it up at the aria and drink some nice ass drinks. Aria is actually very fast with the drinks from what i remembered. I ordered about 12(grey goose) white russians and the reason i got so many was I convinced the older gentlemen next to me to order a few also and just leave them there and I drank them. Very nice guy :D.

Just a heads up if you are getting water it is up to you whether you want to tip $1. I think its total bullshit at the aria that the servers expect you to give them money. TWICE a server goes, umm excuse me what about me? I was like wtf. I gave her a dollar and instead went and talked to the floor after it happened the second time. So my main plan now is to order 2-3 waters at once if i give a dollar and then bring them back to my room later. I make sure i get the best bang for my buck.
