Hi guys, my name is Gerardo and I'm from Mexico. I've been reading the mind=blown thread because of a friend (rubbago) and that got me inspired. The deal is that my life is kind of weird right now and I'm trying to get it right.

I've decided that I need to get 3 things right first and everything will be easier.

-I want to reach NL100 by the end of the year.
-I play football but I have overweight right now due to several things that I will explain.
-I want to get myself together speaking about my love life.

This is written in one of the walls of the Borregos Monterrey football team's gym

NL100

Well here's a quick overview, I started from zero. I got like 6 dollars from playing freerolls and started playing 1.50 HU's... yeah, well that was dumb. I almost busted then got another 6 dollars and started playing NL2 and reached NL25 until yesterday that I made a pretty bad call playing 6-max tables so I'm back to NL10.

My goal depends on volume and discipline, I know it won't be easy but I'm hoping to achieve my goal.

-Weight Issues

I started playing poker a year ago because I used to play football at college but in one practice some guy fell in my knee and well, goodbye ACL. I got really depressed because of this and some other things I'm about to explain.

The thing is that I gained like 25 kilos and I need to lose them by October so I can return to play. Altough here in Mexico we don't have like a Pro league there are a lot of teams that pay you and 3k a mont just for playing 3 weekends sounds pretty nice to me.

I will eat right without starving myself like today I ate meat, rice a lot of lemon water (yes, because if you don't know bottled water is bad for your body) and some fruit.

My goal is to lose at least 12-15 kilos by October and of course being a lot stronger than I'm now.

Love life

Here's is the biggest thing to change. Two years ago I leaved my city an traveled 1000 kms just to accept an scholarship and be beside my exgrilfriend. She was mean really, really mean so I'm kind of traumatized about this. This is one of the reasons I gained weight I didn't want to sleep and most important somedays I didn't want to wake up.

I want to get back on track with my life so I write this because I will be posting like summaries every week and I will keep kind of a diary in an outer blog: http://somesortabull.blogspot.mx/ because sometimes it could get boring.

I also will be posting updates in my Twitter and any advice would be helpful. TYVM in advance.

BTW I write in TLpoker but in spanish and there I posted like a bonus. It's a picture of one of the girls I used to date, she's a cheerleader for a LMB baseball team and of a soccer team. I'm not traying to brag, but the truth is that she's really pretty I think and she wanted something big but when things got real I ran away, yep trolling accepted because of this.

+ Show Spoiler +

TYVM for reading this .

I cant help with your poker or love life, but, as for your weight issues, I would do the following:

- Whatever you are eating, eat smaller portions. (A common problem with North Americans is that we eat until we're full. This is something you don't want to do.)
- Drinking water, only water. No more tecate and tequila. Drinking water will help flush out your system (especially with apple cider vinegar, which is good for your digestive system), and it makes your shit come out easier, water is like lube for your culo.
- Force yourself to watch the following stomach exercise video 4-5 times a week and do the exercises. It will be hard at first, especially on your neck muscles, but if you do it for 6 months straight for 4-5 days a week, you will see an improvement. + Show Spoiler +

- Start doing push ups to strengthen your chest. Start with as many as you can do (10 in a row b4 getting tired), and do that Monday-Friday for 1 week, then switch to 15 push ups the next week between Monday-Friday, and keep going. You're able to do push ups everyday w/o needing to take a day off for a rest if you aren't doing any other chest exercises.
- The 4 things I mentioned above is common knowledge, but like you already know, North Americans can be lazy, especially with trying to lose weight, so force yourself to do it for at least 6 months so you can see improvement in yourself. Once you start seeing an improvement in your weight loss, you will want to do other workouts that can help you lose weight and get stronger.

i lost 30kgs in 3 months earlier this year, just by eating smaller healthier portions every 4 hours + getting my ass to the gym 4 days a week for very simple 30-60min cardio/fullbody workout mixxes

not to hard once uve gone through the first couple of weeks

*i was in asia and got all my meals cooked for me at various restaurants, thats easier for sure rather then cooking urself but its possible to loose alot of weight and get healthier in just a matter of months if u just stick to routines

+ no alcohole is a tip

TY for all your feedback, maybe I didn't explain myself very well. For me it's not hard to go to the gym and practice the hard part is that I used to practice for about six hours a day between gym, field practice and some other stuff, when I got injured this had to stop and that depressed me. I'm running 5 kms a day and going to the gym but I really thin that eating right is a key part of succeding at my challenge.

BTW I don't drink any alcohol and don't smoke.

PPluAD the one with the dark, long hair her name is Pamela.

Graisseux I don't know if in every country is the same but I guess it is. When you practice a lot you begin to sweat, in my particular case I sweat a lot. Obviously you start to get thirsty so you drink water, but most of the bottled waters are sodium low so all of the water that you're drinking goes out of your body as easy as it goes in. Long term it could result in low sodium, potasium levels and you could start feeling sick and angry. The same when you don't practice anything and keep drinking stuff like Gatorade the risk of getting kidney stones rises a lot.

Bring your own stainless steel bottle of water with you + drink coconut water so you don't have to drink water all the time.

Here's what I drink, even though I'm not an athlete:

- 75%+ is just plain water
- 20%+ is water with a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a splash of lemon juice for flavor.
- 5% is coconut water. I just started drinking coconut water a little over a month ago. I drank it before, but I started drinking it more often. I think the natural sugar might help me focus a little bit better while in school, but I'm not sure, maybe it's just keeping me hydrated and focused like it's supposed to.

Is your bottled water distilled water?

To me bottled water is just untreated water, you would need to have a pretty weird diet (and unhealthy if you ask me) for normal water to "harm" you hehe.

the brain uses up a lot of glucose/sugar when you're thinking a lot, probably beneficial to have small amounts of carbohydrates coming into your body during those times
