Im thinking on buying a tablet in the range of $100-400, could be higher but not much, my principal reason is to read books/magazines, but that doesn't mean im not interested on using other applications, web, etc.
Only thing that must be, is 10inch.
My first choice is the Galaxy Tab 2, but i have read that it has its problems when playing 1080hd, probably this is nothing to worry about but in the case i end up loading 1080hd material i wouldn't like to have problems playing it, and for the specifications that i has apparently the cost is high... so im looking for alternatives (no Ipads please)

thanks.

I have Nexus 7 and it's awesome. Maybe try Nexus 10?

Yeah the Nexus 10 seems to be the tablet out there right now. It's $400 though for 16gb, and I don't think it takes an sd card.

Dude you some social darwinist ideas that they are giving hitlers ghost a boner - Baal

windows 8 tab (I have this one)

transformer tf300 (I wanted this one)

both are pretty darn solid devices with the option of being a fully functional laptop of sorts.

asus is around 500 and the Samsung one is around 700 but I promise you that these two are the best bang for buck out there. using the touchscreen keyboard only tablets gets pretty boring quick.

don't you mean Windows is around 700?

I can get an Asus TF300T for the same price of a Galaxy Tab 2, my worries are about some reviews that say that the Asus screen gets cracked pretty easly, even more if you use the keyboard, other says that suddenly the tablet didn't turn on or that it started laggin on internet browser. And getting the warranty could be a mess because the way i would buy it.

From the Galaxy side, it has lower specs for the same price, like slower procesor, lower megapixels on camera, no hdmi, but since i can get in on a local store the warranty must be no problem.

yeah the crack screen thing can be an issue but not sure if it applies to the newer tf300.

the windows 8 samsung ativ does have some slight but very negligible issues (all tabs with keyboard dock stations have a lot except for this one)
if you're not into gaming or hate fukn android because you really cant do shit with that os. the ativ comes with sd card expansion, 3g usim, mini hdmi, 3 usb ports, stylus pen, also has terrific battery life - great camera too with shutter feature. 8mp
the only real issue is the keyboard disconnects from time to time coz of the flimsy connector. but all tabs have this issue too.

ive been using win 8 for two weeks now and i like it, just need to get used to it more and i can see it being a standard in phones and tabs in the future. fuck girlie apps lol

seriously that thing is only good for phones. much like what ios is.
with tablets i prefer some type of middle ground between a laptop and a phone
