Hi
So before i made a serious deal with some coach i tried (cause of your and others advices) to watch some videos and read some basic articles...For two days i didn't play but i was only browsing lp,2+2 and pokerstrategy . I think i changed my game and i feel more safer in play then before. I mostly improved red line and agression factor for a little bit (from 1.4 to 2.3). Here is random graph before and graph for yday and today
I think I'm gonna post hands, watch and read articles more then before and then I'll decide to deal with coach or not. But i think not, because i found this :
http://bestpokercoaching.com/shop/product/double-your-6max-winrate/
And I'm really thinking that I'm gonna buy this. Do you have some experience with this? It's more less the amount which i was prepared to invest for coaching. I think this is more valuable or do you think not?
So let me know if you know this pls

Coaching I would wait until you feel you cannot progress on your own any more. A good coach can help any level of player improve, but if you can still improve on your own then it is wasted money to pay a coach. |

There is so much information out there that is already free, and this thing is 300 euros? You can get a free week trial at deucescracked and download 100 gigs of videos, and there's way more info than this guy provides. There are some series specifically for micro players (not sure what you play).
I would not invest in this at all. It doesn't even look hes a coach, he just gives to access to some videos. There's lots of open skype groups on 2+2, and building contacts will come if you reach out.
Same stuff can be found free elsewhere. Look around for it. |

There is a lot of useless poker-related information out there. Like most of the words people say in poker training videos (even Galfond's). What actually is useful is listening to a player like Galfond when they aren't trying to rationalize their play, but speaking more candidly. It is during these moments that you can pick up something useful from them and perhaps become exposed to a new thought process or, indeed, entirely new thought structure. 95% of poker is played by the subconscious, that remaining 5% is the work spent not allowing your consciousness to interfere(1) or by consciously probing your subconscious ("asking yourself the right questions". Even by the pros. Some clear evidence comes by the typical swiftness of their decisions.
Also graphs are not evidence of improvement.
(1) From the players perspective the work put into playing the game cannot be expressed in %'s because we're talking about things that we don't have a lot of vocabulary for, but you will recognize by the somewhat misleading notions of "tilt control", "life balance", etc. |
