So I made a bet with my father in law. I'm supposed to lose 16 kilos in 4 months. I started at 108 which makes me a fatty and first two weeks I managed to lose 5.5kg. I think it's mostly water weight, but still. Feeling fairly good even though I'm sleeping a bit more and I notice that without carbs I can't play 12 tables for shit. Not all bad new though, 6-tabling makes me play better. My strategy is to take one or two decent walks each day and eat very clean, very often and not very much. I'm eating tons of fruits, cottage cheese, greens, yoghurt and berries. I also eat a lot of chicken, some meat with good nutrition values and fish. In addition to that I drink vitamin drinks and some protein shakes (those with few calories and extra fibres) to make sure I get all the stuff I need while I'm on this diet.

Gonna start running as soon as I can without risking breaking my legs on the snow/ice/general crap on the streets and possibly take some green tea extracts and other things if I stop losing about 1kg/week. Probably going to cut a little bit of water or something the last day or so to win this little bet, but that shouldn't be a problem. When I reach 92kg I'll try to keep losing like 2kg per month or so until I'm at 85kg or so. I think that'd have to be my goal.

This brings me to another point. I'm absolutely horrible at doing things half-ass. When I put a ton of energy into something, this bet might actually be borderline unhealthy, I tend to preform really well but if I try to do something less then 110% I tend to under preform a lot. Is this true for most poker players?

Anyway, poker went very well in January and while I've won a fair bit (low 5 figs) this month two my volume has been pathetic and I really have no excuse other then the diet and the lack of energy I feel from it. Might try to ad some carbs in the mornings or whatever. Also toying with the idea of playing like 100 MTT's ranging between like 20 and 250 EU buyins and see how I do. Watching a couple of MTT videos and it seems really fun and might be the change of pace I'd need. It also seems like it might be slighly softer then cash games.

Other then that Fringe is a really nice TV-series that should get more buzz. As far as movies goes I want to see The Master, Lincoln and maybe Silver Linings Playbook. Are those any good?

I've actually just switched to mtts, and I like it so far. Seems to be a ton more money to be made. Only hard part is that you pretty much "have" to play 8-10h+ straight when you put in a session.

you can write exaxctly what you eat every day, im sure many ppl here can add something to your knowlege and help you

tho there are many roads to the same goal, basically you have to eat less than your daily kcal demand - and that WILL do it

and you're right about water weight, since you eat no carbs, i've read that first two weaks you loose mostly water on such a diet

Is eating a lot of fruit good? It has a lot of sugar and not very good I thought.

DustySwedeDude   Sweden. Feb 19 2013 11:50. Posts 8623

Well it's some sugar but it's like 50-60kcal per 100g so it's cool.

Yea to lazy for that, might update once a month or so. I do live by the Kcal in > Kcal out rule. No magic involved.

True, he's ok with me marrying her already though. We get along fine.

First of all good luck and keep it up.

Second of all if this is meant to be vitamin water then you are much better off both cost and vitamin content wise, drinking normal water and taking a multivitamin. However most multivitamins are rubbish due to their low content amount of each ingredient. If you are eating healthy then you are probably consuming most of the things you need anyway. If you were super concerned you could just get your blood work done.

Well it's water and then I pop one of these pills in it: http://www.lifebutiken.se/life/produkter/Multi/Berocca_brustabletter.ecp

Then it makes a funny noise and a couple of minutes later I can drink it. It's only like 30 bux per month or something like that and I'm fairly sure it doesn't hurt, also Zink and Magnesium seems to be generally believed to be fairly decent.

And to be fair, it tastes fairly good and has 0 calories and I value that high, lol.

Ah it's Berocca. Not sure how good it is compared to taking individual tablets ie/ a tablet for the B's, zinc and magnesium. But it does taste alright.

You might want to take viatmin D as most people are deficient in it. Especially if a) you don't go outside much or b) it's winter/cloudy all the time where you live.

I'm 1.84, or 6'1 (I think?) so fairly tall but not tall enough to be over 100kg.

It's been 3 weeks now, this third week I lost 0.9kg. That's about what I'd hope for.

Weight loss is 90% diet and 10% exercise. It honestly sounds like you're not eating enough though, at the very least you're eating in a way that will lower your metabolism and eventually run you into a road block when it comes to weight-loss/energy levels.

Your goal should be to raise the total amount of calories you can consume in a day by exercising intensely for one hour but then you don't actually consume those extra calories. That will allow you to eat the number of calories you'd get from your BMR (use any standard calculator that allows you to include activity levels) and you just don't replace the extra calories you burn off from your workout. It will probably be around 500-750 depending on how hard you work.

Also make absolutely sure to always eat breakfast. That jump starts your metabolism in the morning and you really hurt your daily burn totals by skipping it.

i'm not an expert, but everything i've read by knowledgeable people on the subject says that the breakfast jumpstarting metabolism thing is a total myth.

Yea, that's what I've read too. I feel that as long as I get everything my body need and don't go around being hungry all the time I can't do too much wrong.

Last few days has been much better too. Energy levels up a bunch, I think I've adjusted fairly good to not eating that much carbs. Lost 0.9kg last week and I'm really anxious to see what I'll get this week. More then 0.7kg would indicate a weight loss of 7kg in one month without much suffering, which seems nice. Aiming at 1kg/week for now.
