If you ever type papers late at night, the White background can really burn your eyes.

I merely cared about the eye strain but apparently bright lights at night can also alter your sleep schedule.

I tried out flux once and it pissed me off after a few days. Just annoying rather than useful but maybe I needed to get used to it or something.

i always have it on 'night time' mode, no matter the time of day. so much easier on the eyes.

Am I doing something wrong with flux...I use it but it seems to make the switch from dark to light REALLY abruptly...like I will grind from say 4am-6pm and when sunrise is supposed to occur my monitor lights up and burns the shit out of my eyes.

flux is nice. A lot of new monitors have sensors built in and will auto-adjust.
