Any tips, tricks, hacks, insight, anything in regards to mattress buying?

I just find the experience pretty horrendous. There are like 10 brands, 10 different types of 10 different 10 types of 10 different types of 10 different types of 10 different types of 10 different types of 10 different types of ..........

The salespeople seem pretty lackluster although maybe not their fault since bed comfort is so damn subjective.

I like the idea of temperpedic "memory foam" but at the same time seems like it could be classic marketing mumbo jumbo in order to rape the buyer in the ass.

Everyone in the western world probably buys a bed at some point. There has got to be a way to make it suck less and actually find the right bed for the individual.

So now that I'm done complaining about beds...

For a number of reasons that I don't care to list (I already spent shit lines shit complaining) I have decided to build a motherfucking firebrick parilla grill that ate tokyo by hand. Who knows when the fuck it will come to fruition but when it does I invite any and all LP'ers to kill some choice animals (or buy some choice killed animals) and asado that bitch up proper.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere cheers to shit hopefully blooming and being nice out.

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere cheers to that for why not.

If you are an alien from another planet cheers.

Dont rush buying a mattress. You spend half your life in it, so it should be something not to go cheap on. I actually got my mattress from Ikea of all places, cuz I got the bed there and well we just tried out lots of mattresses and one just felt great. It was a memory foam type one with cushion thing on top. I have to say it was the best money I have ever spent. It wasnt the cheapest nor the most expensive but it felt great for us. My bed is amazing lol. I work away from home alot and end up in hotels etc, and its always great to come home to my awesome comfy mattress.

Anyway, its all up to you. Just try them out, lie on them. And not for like 10 seconds. Like seriously just lie there for at least 10 minutes lol. Get what feels comfortable to you.

I am a degen. Do not believe in any of my advice.

supposed to find a bed that you are not curved downwards like a hammock or pushed upwards. Men have a higher tolerance of 'comfort' but in actuality you will 3 months later find out it was the wrong bed. All beds are 'new models' because each year they are just randomly newly named, but, still same old bed. It's a rouse to charge more.

All beds can be negotiated to ~50% from asking price. Anything above above 67% is a complete rip off.

You can always make a firm bed more cushy with added toppers later, it is harder to make a soft bed more firm.

The softer beds usually have coils that will last a little less longer.

Almost anything added to the bed is purely for upselling but rarely has many benefits.

Not all beds are made equal, however, the most top quality beds, regardless of design will be of good quality.

Tempur foam, used to run hot in the summer and many people return them after 1 week of owning them. Doesn't mean you won't like it.

Some mattress store owners use Sleep Number and say they are in fact the best. The only one I tried was broken at a Hilton.

You dont spend half your life asleep, but more like 33% or something. Do the math. Anyway dont skimp on a mattress. I mean I bought a cheap Queen when I was single for like $600, and I never complained, once I had a female regularly sleeping over I had to get a King. I was gonna go with something cheap just cuz a King can get fucking expensive real quick, but decided "nope". Now I didnt get that memory foam shit simply because I actually thought it was uncomfortable. But get something pillow top since it will be nice and soft, and dont get anything that is loaded with weak ass springs that make it bounce and shit all over the place. You dont want your sleeping partner to wake you up any time they adjust themselves, or wake yourself up from tossing.

bye now

i got mine for sale at sears 5 years ago $350 very firm queen, i'm happy

you can go to a bed store and just take 30-60 min power naps on the beds you are interested in and see how you feel

30 minute nap at a mattress store? What about "morning wood"?

Well depends how much you sleep, but 33% is still a lot
