I went into August highly motivated and really enjoying playing poker and started the month well, putting in 8k VPPs in the first 4 days despite a couple of heavy nights out for someone's birthday and I thought August was going to be a high volume month. Sadly, in the end, August has been one of, if not the lowest volume months so far this year. It seems this time of year is when everyone's birthdays are and I was drunk probably 24 out of the 31 days in August.

When I wasn't drunk I was hungover or depressed and I just didn't feel like playing much poker for most of the month. Needless to say, I didn't do too well at cutting back on expenditure either considering how frequently I was going out, and I also blew some money on some Poker programs and subscriptions.

There's a bunch of birthday outings (Including my own) this month also and I can see this month going in much the same way as August which would suck because 400k VPPs should be easily attainable, but I might be making tough work for myself in the remaining 3 months if I end up putting in 20k VPPs again this month. I just don't feel motivated to play at all at the moment and wanna do anything but poker really. Hopefully this will change later in the month

Cash:

MTTs:

Overall:
VPPs: 23133.13
Cash: +$2548.49
MTTs: -$568.67
Overall: +$1979.82 (Not including bonuses/rakeback)

Same sort of aims as I had going into August. Lower expenditure and put in 30k+ VPPs.

I know I'm no one, but I followed you since bw and just wanted to say, keep going bro, you got this! Obviously don't force it if it isn't right, but make a couple small life changes here and there and you can get back on track and party loads. You're a talent. gl

gj Midian, we used to play quite a bit back in WGT days btw when iwas on incontrols team. How often do you have 10-20bi swing sessions btw? Back when i played 200nl 6m it was fairly common for me 4tabling 8 hr sessions. How many tables u normally play?

Isn't that pretty low for a grinder like you?

Heh I miss those days actually, I have considered reinstalling BW quite a few times but never get around to it and assume finding games is pretty tough nowadays anyway. I play 8 tables, 4 at 200NL zoom and 4 tables at 100NL zoom. I don't play many hours so swings are very infrequently in excess of 10 buyins in a day.

Dunno if I can really be described as a grinder heh. I've always been lazy and it wasn't until the start of this year I started playing so many hands/hour and even now I don't play that many hours. Anyway, like I said August was lowest volume month of the year so yea it is kinda low anyway. I guess average so far this year is more like 55 hours a month but that's obv still not a terrific amount of hours input, zoom just gives an amazing amount of hands/hour

Did you read the original post or just forget it all by the time you got to the 4th comment? lol

Decent hourly mate no reason to play when you're not in the mood. Hope you get the volume up this month.

poker is soooo much easier when you flop sets

I remember Midian from BW days he always put in the most work great eapm thats why he was so good you should easily translate that into poker no?

You must be trolling or something! I was one of the laziest players in BW too lol. EAPM is useful but being able to make a lot of clicks per minute doesn't necessarily translate to the best winrate or hourly if many of those clicks are poorly made decisions in poker so it's not exactly the same

rly? Always watched your replays and it seemed like you played more than most; joining korean clans etc. :O

Yeah eapm in poker is useless but in BW it wasn't for sure especially in the later days I think you were near that 180+mark and I always thought it's only made through practicing mechanics a ton

I spent a LOT of time online during BW days, but it was mainly chatcraft, replays or observing others play. I was only in 3 clans on U.S.West server and only 1 was a Korean clan, Dream.t, and even with them I mainly did nothing but chat, also met a lot of their members irl. It wasn't rare for me to be online 8 hours and not play a single game heh. Even when I did wanna play quite a bit, I would frequently just play in the 4-8 game range. I have no clue what my EAPM was, I know that my APM was something like 260-300 when I wasn't completely rusty but it wasn't necessary for me to play tons to get that. Frankly I probably had one of the lowest games played per hours online ratio lol
