Hi guys, I am an industrial engineer, planning to study in Canada.

I will apply for the Mining Program of UBC, I realized that there are many Canadians on this blog, so I want to ask you, how much the living costs will be.

e.g

What's the budget needed to live in this city? (2 Adults)

University Costs would be covered by credit and little help of my parents.

Any advice will be very helpful, and I will be very glad to read them.

I am not planning on living with a lot of luxury, just the necessary to eat, sleep, internet, transport, living, Basic (Electricity, Heating, Water, Garbage, drink a beer once in a while lol.

I don´t know if I am skipping any important things that should be basic for living.

Cheers.

I'm from BC. You can get by in Vancouver on 2000-2500 a month, 2 adults. It won't be easy, but you can do it.

I guess it depends on the area, but generally a house would be more expensive

Did you look into possibly living on campus/in residence?

Yes, it is possible, I heard about that some families share one of their rooms to students, they offer 3 meals, basic services, laundry and all for just 1k per month. This will suit very comfortable to me, my living costs will reduce considerable, I hope that these kind of services could accept 2 people.

My partner is my girlfriend, she will not study, she is planning on get a job and help with the costs on the first year. The second year, the university has a co-op program, with salaries between 3.5k to 7k per month, the program will not be more large than for 8 months, so I will provide the majority of the costs.
