Not sure how players are folding to you, i get tons of action nonstop in zonepoker. In fact there's usually action every single hand. Sometimes I'll sit out for a second as a sanity check, and at least 1 person always limps, minraises, or attempts to steal the blinds. I just use a hand chart to play a well rounded range thats good under most circumstances and am winning at 8BB/100 over the last 20k hands since I started.

You might want to snag the Bovada HH converter so you can import the hands into HEM and study them better. Always great to see some of the insane showdowns players make against each other, or even you when you get curious about whether you were bluffed or not.

It works for PT4 too. Something I found odd about your statement though, you said you noticed that you had 5 hands folded to you, presumably in a row? How do you know people are folding to you? You should be auto-folding so much that you dont really know what happened after the hand. The fact you are aware that so many people are folding makes me think that you arent folding as much as you should be. See the way I play, I am only engaging in hands that I intend to raise for the most part. Of course I'll call with PP's and stuff too, but generally I start the action, which means when I'm not starting it I'm just folding away. I'm still playing like 20vpip but I honestly dont even know how much people are folding preflop since I'm not there long enough to see it. But you are? Maybe thats your problem.

because there are times when im in the blind where ill check it down or raise if there isn't an open raise, but if there's any action, i will fold out. i do fold out most of the time and end up folding when im on the bb and didn't wait to see if there was any action or not. Though, i don't know if I go ahead and fold there, if it gets folded to me, if I win the blinds for that hand? I would think so, but i couldn't tell for sure.

I raise almost all of my hands unless I just call on the button, cause i know a lot of people will just bet out regardless of what they have and it wasn't too hard to tell when people were bluffing last night, so i was able to pick off a few here and there.

I remember the first night, the first hour, I folded for 40 minutes straight. though, newb, i have to ask you, are you seeing a lot of hands where the bb calls and then bets oop into you or the raiser on the flop? i see that about 90% of the time when the bb calls. its like the new c-bet.

Fuck your blind. Just fold and play semi-decent hands. I dont want to check down 25o and get into some retarded spot where i flop middle pair and level myself into calling 1 street b/c it's an ez spot for them to bluff etc, or make a dumb 2 pair and lose to set. At our skill level we're probably going to lose more money playing hands that get lucky than we are if we just stick to solid hands.

btw there's no possible way you could ever run card dead for 40 minutes in zone poker, even 1-tabling. You need to step up your game some. Raise more call less.

that made me giggle. im trying to figure out what others perceive the metagame for zone to be. from what i usually encounter on carbon or in real life is that it's standard NOT to bet into your initial raiser on the flop oop, however, on zone, that's seemingly the standard. i want to know why this is so common.

You shouldn't just fold your BB wtf... Why would you throw away away a chance to see a free flop.

If you auto fold bb and sb completes you lose the hand no matter what.

If you stay in the hand, when the sb completes you can check; then possibly flop good and win a stack.

All you do when you auto fold in the BB is hurt your winrate a little. Wait until someone raises to fold

I still experiment with aggressive defending from time to time, but lately I've been preferring to just fold and get on to the next hand. My BB 3bet is 14.3% which accounts for the most of my 3bet activity, followed by SB at 12.5%. But I feel better getting in more volume and just snap folding to the next table than wasting the 30 seconds to play the hand out.

Anyway I dont perceive there to be any intelligent metagame at zone, at least not at NL25 which is as high as it ever runs for the last few months. Fish are playing the same dumb crap they play in normal ring games. They hero call with Ace high like it's nothing, and even king high to a degree. I just get more opportunities to raise with broadways and pocket pairs now.

Oh, and donkbetting is not the "new norm" or whatever, it's just what dumb fucking fish do when they want to "see where they're at" or go for some hopeless steal attempt because they didnt flop anything with J5 suited.

I'm running 15 BI's under EV at 20k hands and have paid almost $1000 in rake at NL25. Dafuq? Yet I am still winning so I've got that going for me.
