I promised some pics, so here they are. Overall it was pretty awesome and had a lot of fun. Got to listen to Tasteless, Artosis, Demuslim and Incontrol cast for 2 days straight from like 1 meter away. Also managed to convince wife to come with me for a couple of hours and from what I could tell she had her share of fun considering the circumstances and that she barely recognizes the races in sc2 :D

Jjakji just found out that WCS is due to start in 2 weeks and he had travel plans with his soon-to-be-fiance as they were getting engaged in a couple of days :D Poor guy was devastated, but his english is pretty decent ^^

All in all it was awesome. Recently they announced DH Masters which will be held in November, cant wait it. Also next year they wanna do the event at a 30k football stadium :D Esports is well and alive.

jjak was devastated because he's going to miss a tournament to go travelling with the person he loves and plans to spend the rest of his life with? WTF. Crazy fucking koreans, I swear...

Also, how did he know he was going to be engaged in a few days? What if she said no? Never in my life have I heard someone say "I'm going to be engaged in two weeks.."

Did some research on his earnings, he's made $12,700 in the last two years, how do people survive on that? Does he basically live for free by sponsorships or something?

Interesting blog. I know nothing of SC2, or the gaming culture, but it looks like it's a super fun event for those who are into that sort of thing. BTW, nice park! I hope you take advantage of it!

Its THE tournament - because its sponsored by blizzard with multiple levels - qualies, challenger and premier. He was in premier and if he didnt play, he would be demoted to challenger It also runs a couple of times/year for several months.

Ofc he is living from sponsorship, all these players get a salary ranging from a couple hundred bucks to a couple k/month. He is also a former GSL champ with pretty solid. Whatever they win is just a bonus.

And about the engagement thing - I knew i was getting engaged 2 weeks prior asking my wife, cause we have already talked about, just that she didnt know when will exactly happen. Also we had a small celebration within the family which made the whole thing "official". So yeah, you can say basically 2 weeks before getting engaged that you are getting engaged in 2 weeks, lol. Like if you have any doubts about the girl rejecting you, you are better off not asking in the first place :D

That takes all the fun out of it! I understand why the guy was so upset then. His gf should play it super cool and say they can go travelling the week after
