This is the sickest downswing I have ever had so far. 20BI downswing, and it seems neverending still..

Thanks Devon and Lemon and everyone else who cheered me on and gave me help. All of the advice were great! I started to play less speculative hands and fold more on weird spots. Tilt still gets me sometimes so it wasn't all just bad luck during the downswing. And I need to find a way to focus on just the decision making rather than the money.. I started off with $130 ish (thanks to the $77 milestone hand bonus that I randomly hit the 2nd day I opened the account for $45+20) but cash game had been pretty brutal.. Had some decent success at the 50cent 9max SnG's but it is not the same..

I got very nervous about my bankroll know, even though I still have about 35 BIs for 2NL. Money is not an issue for me, it is just that it is almost impossible for me to deposit right now. So if someone could help me do some transfers via paypal that would be great. I would feel a lot less stressed.

I really want to get good at poker, and people here are great. I am glad that I am on LP and hope my poker improves as time goes on.

Yeah 20BIs is totally normal. It's great that you happened to have one in the beginning if you just manage to survive without giving up or putting in less effort you'll already do better than vast majority of poker players. Downswings are actually great in that they force you to get better

Try having a downswing of 7 UFC events in a row. Granted, it's only a hobby, but it was a 2 month losing streak. It happened during summer of 2013.

what is your BRM on PLO? I assume somewhere around 100BI? I want to try some PLO but I am too scared to risk my BR right now.. I also tried some limit 2-7 triple draw for a bit but there are virtually no tables running and the lowest limit is 10c/20c. Going to focus on 2NL cash.

hundred buyins is good.
While you are learning EITHER play one or the other not both and micro-lowstakes plo is a MASSIVE rake trap imo like literally almost unbeatable because rake is too high... I'd advise sticking with holdem for now, if you're interested in PLO ever myself or Waga will probably be able to point you in the right direction, but don't think you understand anything about plo from just playing holdem because there are probably as many differences as there are similarities.

If you can win some steady money on the micro cash i'd advise playing some micro mtts with some of your profits sometimes... they are crazy crazy soft and if they're not turbo's you can literaly just play tight and print money.

Get used to the swings, ideally a poker player would be 100% emotionless so try to be that way yourself, its very difficult to win consistently with tilt problems.

Good luck

poker is soooo much easier when you flop setsLast edit: 07/06/2014 22:39
