I was working two jobs until one decided to give me full time hours, which meant I had to quit the other one. I only had about two weeks for the one I quit, but they completely erased all the time I worked, meaning they won't be paying me. Nor have I been paid by the current place I'm working at. I already quit a job this year because they threatened to not pay me all of my hours worked. I don't fucking get it.
I just don't fucking know what to do.
edit: i guess i shouldn't say quit because i was trying to put my two weeks in but the manager wanted to try to work out some hours. there hasn't been anything official in terms of termination, but this is fucking ridiculous.

I've been fucked over before, and I couldn't do shit about it. Except for quit on the spot. This is why I say I don't know what the fuck to do. I guess I'll try the DoL, but I'm not hoping for much. The manger won't respond to my texts.
But at least that's not even close to the majority of my problems right now. |

You can sue them in small claims court if they owe you less then $5,000. |

Quitting is the worst thing you can do. If you are doing the job you were hired to do satisfactorily then make them fire you. You can contact labor while still working for them paid or not, unemployment also. If you quit no unemployment but if they fire you, reduce your hours or don't pay you to where you are virtually fired, you can claim unemployment benefits after a minimum of 3 months worked. That also boosts your employers tax rate which is why they will try to make you quit rather than fire you. Just make sure they can't fire you for misconduct as defined by the EDD. |

'Putting your two weeks in' is still quitting. Makes no difference technically if you give notice in an at-will employment relationship. Not like they give you a two week notice before they fire you so you can look for other work. They just want that notice so they can replace you without a lapse in coverage. Two week notice is a courtesy nothing more when leaving a place under good terms |
