Well, the BR now stands at a somewhat acceptable 2030. I'm working my way through learning 25PLO. At some point recently things started to click as I made major changes and thought I'd figured it out. The last 3-4 days though I've seemed to lack the same strength of focus and maybe that's why it hasn't been clicking as consistently. I find the hardest challenge in learning to beat this game is figuring out what's actually working for me.

Spots I know I need to work on:
1. Paired Boards
2. 3-Bet pots - particularly as the caller, and absolutely need to 3-bet good hands more
3. Lots of rivers and turns where I need to continue with my betting to get the fold instead of giving up sheepishly

Goals for Next Month:
1. 60-80k hands
2. Think more deeply about spots where I'm leaking and plug those leaks
3. Continue to develop my ability to focus for 2-3 hours straight on my A-Game
4. Reach PLO50
5. Cross the 50k FPP barrier, sitting at 31.5k now

Gratz on the progress! I know you have been working hard playing lots of hands every day.

is it tough to get the red line up in PLO?

Goal #6: stop flooding the hands section.. Selectively list hands you want to show, bunch them together as comments

Beja what would you consider as a healthy and steady bankroll for PLO25? When are you going to start PLO50? As soon as you get to 5k? 100 buy ins?

how much rake did you pay?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

It really depends on the individual. Some people play with 25-30 and try to "beat the rake trap" exceedingly quickly. That might even be the best approach. My goal from the beginning was to teach myself to crush this game one stake at a time and play with a larger bankroll. I'm generally pretty reactive to tilt as you might have noticed so playing on a short roll just doesn't work for my emotional well-being. Playing with a large one allows me to make plays I'm curious about, just to see what happens or see what people turn up with. The more creativity I can work into my game the more I can learn.

Edit: I've planned my "shot" for 2500, originally I was going to do it at 3000 but at this point I've played enough PLO25 to feel like I can beat it, and probably keep getting better at beating it so I'm happy to take a 10-buy-in stab at PLO50 when I reach 2500.

you can move up at 40 to 50, if you lose 3bi just drop back down, table select correct and hold baby

if you are still prone to tilt at this stage of the game you are going to screw yourself. Especially if you get tilted over dumb things like coolers, runouts, bad beats rather than tilt due to ur own bad play. Especially playing PLO. Try to get over that.

If you really believe you aren't prone to some form of tilt then I think you're the arrogant one who is kidding yourself. Everyone gets off their A-Game sometimes. In fact, everyone is susceptible to subtle forms of tilt. I'm not talking about spazzing away tons of stacks like a retarded monkey. I'm talking about not making a thin VB because you're playing too tightly or nervously because you've lost a couple buy-ins in your last few 50/50's. And a thousand other possible examples.

I don't believe anyone who says they never get upset at the game. They're just lying, mostly to themselves. It's about how you maintain focus through those difficult sessions when things don't seem to go well for you. That's key.
