dont worry its good for image at the table. What u have to do in these situations is act like u dont know u made an error. Will get ez money from the table thinking you are the biggest fish

couple of months ago I folded a better 2 pair after counterfeiting my opponent's 2 pair, cost me maybe $200, just didnt see the board paired with 2 low cards on the river. Now I really recount the board and stare long and hard before folding. Was kinda funny actually as some other fish had a solution to this, always table your hand no matter what. He said he really does it hoping that his opponents will turbo muck without realizing they have the best hand after they see his.

That, and when I tabled quads vs a straight not realizing he hadnt acted on my bet for a potentially 400BB pot. Yeah that sucked way worse .

I agree you should have been like "Dealer, I gave you my cards, why didn't you show them"

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

uh folded a 1 card flush vs other guy no flush for 300 dollars. misread my hand 3 or 4 times this year thinking i had a 4 instead of a 5 and board is 4 and go all in and continue to lose. yep thats about it.
make these same two mistakes all too much it seems. got me so paranoid i always check my cards 2 times before folding now like im an idiot who cant remember his cards that i saw 10 seconds ago.
i consider myself a cautious person too. i cant even imagine how many misclicks the seniors make.

Just do whats right

Had an old man at the table holding his hand in the air for the 2 players on his side to see, he mucked AQ after an aipf on a AKJT8 board because the other guy had already tabled AK and was just fixated on that 2 pair. Nobody said anything of course until he pitched it.

bye now

board was like 558J

I pushed turn
guy calls quickly, some guy asks if he's got a 5 and he flips over KJ and I go apparently not, but I do! and then I flip over 76
I go oh fuck, table erupts with laughter

and river comes 4
It was truly glorious

surprised you turned it right over and didn't get the pot. Bellagio has some liberal interpretations of "retrievable hands" out of the muck. If there's like one or two extra cards in the muck, or the dealer thinks the two cards he sees in the muck are the players cards, the player can tell his hand to the floor and if he's right he has a live hand still. We were just talking about it yesterday at the table; somebody was sitting in the 9 seat in PLO and after his opponent showed his hand on the river he took his 4 cards and put it on top of the muck, then he put his actual hand on top of the muck and said "wait I had a straight, my hand is the top 4 cards," said the names of the cards and won the pot.

Regarding hand muck bad beats, I still managed to do it in the past year in a nasty spot. Tried to forget the exact details but it went something like this: Check raised A9 on 679, bet 2 turn, river is an 8 and I check, opponent checks, I start to say "Ace Nine" but opponent says "Trips" so I muck...upon double checking the tabled hand of my opponent I see he has 89 and still muck confused bc he has 2pair not trips...but as the dealer takes my hand I notice that the river was actually another 9, not an 8. Just a couple thousand in the pot with a few thousand behind... Normally I'm pretty tilt-proof but had to leave bc I couldn't stop thinking about the mistake. Bright side is opponent is a nice guy and gave me $400 in EV back via a free $800 red or black on the next flop that I won so I got some money back.

A few years back I was in Macau and playing a game at the Lisboa, it was 10/20 HKD, buyin was 3500 I think. After a few hours I was doing soso, I had to rebuy half twice, and I stacked some older dude, and I had around 11-12k stack.

A few limpers and I raised on the button with JTdd, 2 callers, BB checked, first limper donked on a AdKd8c board, folded to me and I raised him kinda big, he called. On the turn, it came a blank like 2h or something, he checked to me, i bet into the pot kinda big again, thinking he would fold, he banked a bit, and then went all in. I called.

Pot was around 20-21k HKD

River was a blank, my heart dropped, but I kept a cool face, this guy got real mad and threw his cards into the muck. All of a sudden I was like OMG, I was kinda shocked, but happy and just waiting for dealer to push pot towards me. Now the whole table is like wtf is going on, one guy mucked and im not showing, table asks to see my hand, I say I don't have to, but dealer then goes I have to show to collect, I said fine ill show, but pot is mine. I turned over my cards, and the korean guy is like wtf omg, and he took his cards back and he showed Q9dd.

Now dealer wants to give him the pot, I'm like you better calm the fuck down lady and ship me that pot. NOw the whole table turned on me, btw I was only black guy in the whole casino, and the one white guy on the table didn't wanna support a nigga, he put on his hoody and was looking down lol.

Table is like nono, he didn't muck, he just asked to see your hand, anyways I beefed and argued with the dealer, she called her supervisor. SUpervisor hears story from table , and players and me, and is like sorry sir you lost, I was kinda loud and saying shit like you guys don't know how to play poker, Im from north america bla bla, she called her next manager, some older asian dude, and same case scenario.

The whole table was supporting this korean fucker, who couldn't really defend himself cause his english was bad and he didn't speak chinese. After like a good 15-20 mins of arguing with 3 different managers, they went and called the manager of the room or something. There was hope when I saw him walking towards me as he was a white guy. ( never had i been so happy to see a white guy lol) Same thing went down, and he looks at me goes, I don't know what to tell you buddy, you're telling me one thing, and everyone else has a different story than yours. The one thing ill do for you is look at the camera's.

He took the pot, put it aside, and made us rebuy (korean guy refused and sat out) and game continued, after about 20 mins, he came back, and started walking towards the korean guy, all I heard was "noo noo noo" he then came to the table, and explained that the Korean guy did muck his hand, and dealer actually moved it into the muck, and only after I showed did he take his cards out of the muck. Hand was dead, and I was awarded the pot. He asked if it was raked, and I said it don't even matter, here's another 100 for the rake.

As soon as I received the money, the whole game broke, all the chinese people were mumbling and seriously offended that I won that pot. I thought I was gonna get robbed or beat up on the way to the hotel, but I'm still alive lol.

My card room when the cards hit the muck - it's a dead hand no matter what (which I like - even if it's obvious which two are a players - no grey area in this instance)

Other situations it really depends - if you feel like the dealer made a mistake (it happens to even the best dealers) it's your right to call over the floor to have them make a decision.

Place I play at use to run a - if you lose with aces you get "x" amount. Long story short I get aces, end up getting beat and show the guy who beat me who was to my right I had aces - he makes a comment as I'm mucking "At least you get some money ba-" to late I dumbly already tossed them into the muck.

Whoops T_T
