no seriously this is the GTO mindset. things can't get better. you're leveling when you're proven right.

Here's what I thought. Let's say I'm going to commit suicide. Once I do it, my EV = 0. Therefore, when I've reached the point of suicide, and I magically stop myself, I'm essentially freerolling life. If I can do any good or get any enjoyment from this point on, it's +EV. It's a good hack to change your losing session into a reset, clean slate.

What Nitewin said is probably the most skeptical rational view of things and it still completely demolishes your argument.

The amount of stuff to learn and experience is way too great to just throw away even if you experience major pain. I'd only agree with " rational suicide" aka euthanasia when it comes to people suffering from hardcore dimentia or last stage incurable disease which would kill them in a few weeks/months while they suffer insane physical pain

If there is no afterlife, you wasted your life.

if there is an afterlife you will get there even if you dont kill yourself, and actually I guess you have odds of getting a bad afterlife according to some religions (since we are already entertaining ridiculous notions).

So clearly not killing yourself has the best value when you consider all possible outcomes.

ya that's a serious and good point. it shows that if there are people out there some of us will dedicate to the idea that we're all 1figment of the imagination. like if u were a spiritual leader it would be impossible not to come back by popular appeal.

yea at worst you're a cell in some kind of giant hylomorphic compound like the raft ant. when the universe explodes into heaven as it obviously shall the pinnacle of your consciousness will prove to be the pivotal building block. or you'll be usurped into some kind of economic scenario like reality where your name and deeds are utterly lost in some unimaginable mechanistic twist.

Even if you were a figment of the imagination what would be the purpose of killing yourself?
