My noob guess is that you took that on automatic and the ISO is too high to have a good shutter speed, you need slower shutter speed and good pulse for dark enviroments

yes, I think the pic is too "grainy"
I took with 1/6 shutter speed otherwise it would be too dark and I dont have a tripod, so it got shaky
I guess the iso is fine, no ? was taken with 6400

this is the result after playing with lightroom a bit ( is this considered cheating? )

The silhouette is alluring. The photo is ok.

What kind of camera did you get? I recently went hiking and photoing with a friend who is an absolute camera nut and I got really into it. I haven't bought a camera yet but have been searching a bit. I just like info. What did you get for how much? My friend recommended searching around on craigslist for used but I have a father in law who sells cameras who might be able to get me a deal.

It is a fun hobby though no?

I live in Bangkok and the girl is thai, and city view is Bangkok from my room

the camera I got is a Canon T6s, I paid around 800 usd with kit lens 18-135mm and acessories, im having a good year at poker so I didnt mind, I have a friend who takes pictures with much older camera and he got awesome pictures
yea its very fun hobby indeed, people should do more of this, I like to photograph people but im a bit shy to put a bigass camera in their faces and take pics

I dont know much about photography just basic stuff so I cant tell you specifically what ISO is best only that grainy means high ISO to compensate high shutter speed.

lightroom is definitelly not cheating nowadays, everyone does it, thats why people shoot in RAW formats, to use the extra data for postprocessing

There is a specific ISO value for every different camera model you should not go above in order not to distort the image quality and receive the grainy effect.

For your model OP it is 915:

If you enjoy the camera (which is very good for entry level) my advice would be to sell the kit lens and buy some good low f-stop lens for $100-200. But get to know the basics first (EV, aperture, shutter, ISO, focal length, crop factor) and that will come naturally. Depending on what shots you want to take, you'll need different types of lens (for example - are you making close ups or shooting birds from long distance etc).

yea, actually Ive done some research first and I was going to buy the T6i that comes with 18-55mm kit lens, but I read that 18-135mm is a very good upgrade and the T6s came with this lens already instead of the 18-55mm
but as soon as I get used to all the functions I will get some new lens

ISO isn't the culprit here but you have two totally differently lit subjects the woman and the sky. You either have good lighting for one or the other, or you take two different pictures from a tripod using different settings and play around with them in lightroom/photoshop. If you're going for the silhouette then you should adjust your aperture and shutter speed so the sky looks nice.
Photography is super fun. I just took a picture in front of a green screen and edited myself on a nice looking beach using layer masks in photoshop. Was a fun exercise. I've had the good fortune of trying many different lenses. L series lenses are way better. 70-200 is my favourite, 24-70 comes next. Prime (fix) lenses are fun.
The basics have remained unchanged for many decades so picking up a book and reading will go a long way towards understanding whats possible with photography.
