What's something you got good at little by little over time? And what's something you worked on over a long period of time but had delayed improvement? And then after a while everything seemed to come together at once? Explain what the process was like. Was it constant effort or did your commitment fluctuate? Was it spread out over years or short and intense? When you were going through it did you ever doubt what you were doing?

Progress is not linear in anything really. Neither at the level of the individual nor at a societal one. Exception being technological improvement. In the gym you also do what's called linear progressions but you'll always have periods where you don't progress and good programs help you minimize them. It's not physically possible to keep increasing the weights incrementally every workout for a long period of time, but sometimes you figure out a factor like posture or diet that makes a big difference. |
