Merry Christmas Y'all,

I feel that it is time to abandon the Looks or Game Part II blog / thread. I am just gaming nowadays anyways. I am gaming a lot. Probably, Valheim, Hades, Slay the Spire, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Tetris, Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption, World of Warcraft, Diablo II... in that order. That seems like kind of a lot of stuff to be playing. I am playing my guitar too. Un-rustifying myself. I think my teacher was surprised where I was at last week since I said I kind of fell off over the holidays. But, it turns out just practicing the fundamentals for a while is good practice and I hit it a bit harder these last 2 weeks. I am currently playing Heavy Soul by The Black Keys.

That's it I guess. Work is going fine. I run into problems when I want something more than just gaming but I can typically blot out the consciousness with the selection of games I have going. I don't know if it's that much different from getting stoned or blasted on wine and cognac or whiskey. Except my liver is thankful. If gaming is what I need to do to stay clean / sober and not lose my mind I'm not too concerned by it. Kind of similar to these blog posts.

It's kind of crazy how Christmas snuck up on me this year. It seems like just yesterday I was starting out at this job which is almost a year ago. Before we know it it will be the New Year and time for more reflection. No partying for me this year and I am not even going to try. Just some peace and quiet finally. Imagine if I put myself up to some challenges in real life as I do in the video games?

Today, I felt the breeze and watched the birds and I will do as they do. Eat some food, chill, fly.

Ori was great but trust me when i tell you this; stop gaming. It is an absolute blight on adulthood. It's the classic "when I was a child I played with childish things". You're probably addicted whether you're willing to admit it or not, but the moment you put the PC or console away your life will improve.

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Maybe it is a blight for some. My adulthood is waking up to an alarm, trapped in a routine, work, bills, etc. There is no rich life for me outside of gaming. I'm probably moderately addicted to it but the moment I started gaming my life improved.

They are a blight on childhood as well. Fucking warcrack babies playing WoW 16 hrs a day, what a waste of a life.

I am not advocating for children playing 16 hours of WoW a day. There is so much potential there. I am a washed up 40 year old at all things. It is true that if you put some whiz kid entrepreneur in my situation they would be out of it in no time but I am not a whiz kid entrepreneur. The Bipolar I is just tough. Drinking really did a lot of damage but 8 years later one would think I would figure something out. Well, I haven't. What I've figured out is I have a job that allows me to consume somewhat. I mean not really but I can afford tendies and vidya. I realize there is opportunity cost. It gets even more and more difficult as time goes on to meet people and be social but it's a choice I am making. Vidya gets me through the darkness of night. Keep in mind I live in a sleepy suburb. One of the grocery stores is open until 11am but that is about it. I don't drink anyways. Obviously, I want love and connection. It's just easier to blot out the consciousness with vidya. It beats the hell out of doom scrolling or simply staring at a tree outside my window for too long.

You should give yourself more credit Rik for getting a better grasp on your self control and the ability to manage your condition over the years. You've made a ton of progress and I'm not being sarcastic as someone who also went through drug induced psychosis and knows how difficult it can be.

That being said I think curbing video games(not completely) and joining a positive group oriented fitness setting would benefit you way more. Why not try getting back to BJJ, Muay Thai, Crossfit or something of that nature?

Rooting for you bro.

I understand all that, I didn't think you were advocating children doing that. It was just a random personal comment about how I think games can be pretty pointless and addictive to people of all age groups. Personally, I've been obsessed with various hobbies since I was about 6 years old and some of them have been pretty self destructive (like video games when I was a teenager). I don't think there's anything I can do about it except to try and channel it into constructive hobbies so I can be obsessed with something that benefits me in some way.

Vidya is responsible for you living in the darkness of night. If you quit cold turkey yes you will be bored out of your mind because it's the only thing you've been using to pass the time. But after a few months you'll find other ways to occupy yourself. Get on a dating app like Hinge and meet somebody, watch how much more you enjoy spending your evenings talking to them instead of playing games.

Not particularly because I am the opposite of sharp on this bet. I am interested to see what the outcome is. 2nd biggest donor to the Democratic Party behind George Soros amounts to what in this situation?

It would be wise to get some form of physical exercise in. I still have to lose some weight to not be overweight. It's tough. My first inclination is to powerlift under some form of Greyskull or whatever that program Loco got results from. I wouldn't be against training MMA but straight BJJ or Muay Thai I'm not that interested in. Definitely not interested in Crossfit.

No. My work schedule has me living in the darkness of night and facing the Void in the downtimes. In this sleepy town I just found out there is a Waffle House I didn't know about. 11pm - 3am is time for gaming and watching Better Call Saul. I realize I am giving up on life but it is better than the alternatives. I am just trying to make the best of a dilemma. Hinge is actually a good suggestion. That looks like the dating app I should be on. However, if I put my all into that dating app and fail I will be crushed further than I currently am. Let me figure out my physical exertion problem first. After that I don't think there is any philosophy I HAVE to read at this point. It's more about physical fitness and sorting out my anxiety more than anything.

All I really want to do is learn the blues on my guitar. My teacher is more into classical rock than anything else. I know a lot of white people just watched video to see what the the OG blacks were doing and figured it out which is pretty impressive imo. That music always deeply resonated with me as I am mostly a melancholy person. An emotional person. A person that is struggling with things. I relate. It lifts me up.

Imo, it amounts to nothing. First of all, the democrats would look really bad if he got off lightly, and they arn't ever going to get another donation from him again. Second of all, Enron CEO's were in tight with the Bush family and they got 20 something years. Though I think they got paroled early. Jeffrey Skilling got out of prison recently.

I mean there are cases, like both the democrats and republicans got all the criminals in the 2008 crisis off the hook. Obama reinstated people like Larry Summers and Timothy Geithner. And Bush got Henry Paulson and his friends off the hook. But that was exceptional. These are just singular cases of massive fraud that don't involve the whole economy.

So idk, my guess is around 20 years in minimum security, and he gets out in like 10. But i really got no idea xd.

SBF also donated to republicans, they just kept it on the down low.

If you increase waffle and benchpress intake by 70% you'll have the Hinge game on lock.
