What's the state of online poker?

I've been out of the loop for a long time. I miss poker and want to get back into it casually for some side income and fun.

TBH, I sometimes find myself missing my early/mid 20s, the pokerstars days, and this community. I felt a lot lighter and worry free back then.

Are games fishy enough in ~nl100 for an old timer like me to stand a chance?

I miss live poker too. But I'm living in Mexico now, and def don't trust the casinos here.

What poker site should I look into?

When is the last time you played?

If it's pre-2015 (solver inception) you are going to need some work on your game.

I don't know that much on legality of online poker in Mexico. PokerStars from what I've heard is still the premiere site although I think the rake is higher now. Being in the USA I can only play Ignition and ACR which do the job but I'm not that thrilled with either of them. At 100 NL the rake will not be as severe as the micros but that might be something you would want to look into. If you haven't played since 2008-2010 you are entering a world of pain at 100 NL.

I wish you well. I started playing again in late April and it's been fun. There's the competition aspect of it, the strategy aspect of it, the flow state (zone) aspect of it. Poker just seems to scractch some itch. When I play the computer screen is in color and everything else is in black and white.

don't bother with playing a pro in 2024 imo, just donk around n have fun there isn't much money in poker for amount of work needed to win imo. but if u want some home games I might know a club for you which is softer than public sites but u must trust me though so whatever u choose to do it is what it is.

2024 doesn't seem like a great time to return to poker, unless you want to play it for fun and not try to make it your main source of income.
