I just played a short 500 hand session, still not feeling very comfortable but I'm forcing myself to just keep focused and keep grinding.
I was down about 3/5 a buyin, then this hand happened:

Needless to say I was pretty pissed off but then a king flopped and I was thinking about how it must be some kind of divine retribution XD.
Next hand on the same table, this happens:

I ended my session up about 1.5 buyins. Needless to say, poker seems sooooooo easy when you play the set-up situations and suck out.
Both of those hands are pretty mundane, so I will post this one I played yesterday: I felt proud of myself.

Being so used to nitting it up at 25nl and 50nl fr, making calls like this is still a 'big deal' for me (even though it is pretty straight forward).

So luckkeeeh!
Calling with the QQ there is a indeed pretty risky. You'll see opponents checking this turn behind with ace sometimes too because they don't want to create the impression that they have it. Then again, there are lotsa missed draws as well that he could be bluffing with. Just remember that without a read, this is not even close to standard calldown (I could see AA/AK checking that turn). Hell, maybe he's bluffing with KK, not to mention sets.
Very nice indeed. |
