Day 1: Feb 5, 2007
Start: $30.20
Close: $37.32
Profit: $7.12
So today I am going to start my poker blog with a little over $30. I started two weeks ago with the $50 PP deal, and brought it up to $80 by the second day (I declined the bonus $25 after learning it would only stay in my account for a month. In hindsight, a bad decision). Last week, I lost over $50 to a mix of bad beats, bad plays, and overall just really bad luck. I am now learning more, and playing better and a little more conservatively with a low bank roll.
This blog will serve as a log of my daily gains for now, until I learn more about the game and can post stats or whatever.

last night I was up to $40. I said to myself that I would call it a night, because I was getting tired. Then a few of my friends were still playing, so I jumped back into the game.
I had trip 4's on the flop ( 4 6 8 ). I bet, the villain reraised me all in. I called (of course!). Turn came 6, River was a 2. Villain had 68o.
I lost $2 with QQ when I knew in my gut that the other guy had KK, but I was tipping a little from the previous bad beat and called just to see what he had.
Ended the night with another bad beat. KK, uninteresting flop. Bet and bet, and the villain kept calling oop. River came up a Jack. Villain took the initiative with a 50c (1/3 pot) bet. Called. He had JJ.
Lesson learned: Don't play when you feel like you're done for the day.
Updated my entry with my current winnings. Ended the night great tonight, making a full house on a river, which also made the villain trips. Pushed and picked up a sweet $4 pot. |
