hi guys ive been playin poker for a month or so i played some playmoney to get used to it and learn the hands and such
my friend of a friend won 70k at a live tournament and im poor as fuck so i thought gotta start this, i consider myself smart so i reckon i can probably make enough money that i wont have to work at the vidostore anymore ($16/hr... when i can make than $10/hr at poker im quitting my job).
i could go to the casino but its an hour away and it depresses the fuck outta me to see old ladies playing pokies and shit. and everyone there seems like a giant dick in their own special way. im probably not good enough to even beat those guys yet anyway and dont want to gamble that much of my own money
anyway i deposited 100 on partypoker today and i lost $10 instantly but im not sweating it i played likea fool cos im nervous as fuck, next time i take a shot ill play better
cos i have no idea wtf im doing lol
ill read some stuff too cos im looking at the hands on the side and i you guys play pretty different to me, im gonna go with the theory its me who needs to change
i just wanna have some fun and make money, i think i can get to 25nl or something... i guess thats where the money becomes "real", winning or losing $5 doesnt seem like much to me at the moment

read the stuff on this page Articles go to borders or barnes and noble and buy some poker books(Super System 1 or 2, Doyles 50 Most Memoriable Hands is inspiration, Doyle writes some good stuff read all his shit). Take your knowledge and busto a few times because you dont know how to manage a bankroll and your playing 200nl shortstacked because you think if your tight enough youll beat the odds. Then deposite again and go bonus hunting grinding the micro stakes, own some MTT and SnGs with time and youll be on your road to success. gl and enjoy your bumpy unpredictable road that is called Semi-Non-DontReallyKnow-Grinder-Amateur Status |

quitting your job for poker is fucking stupid. u dont have a solid income in poker as you did with your job because youre just starting out. gtfo, smarten up i would keep that job if i were you |

Stick to red's word. If you start poker by thinking you can make a living of it, then you'll be very very disapointed, needless to say you can even put yourself (and your family) into big troubles. |
